  1. i guess the move to Texas wasn't an isolated moment of non-clarity.
  2. i can't think they'd have the same headliner two years in a row, but who knows.
  3. thanks Diane, much appreciated!! the young kids hung out at the rail, but there were plenty of 30-50 year olds at the event too. and w/ the Replacements playing in the Fall, i'm sure there will be more.
  4. no one voted for Speedy Gonzalez? buncha racists up in this piece.
  5. i think the Replacements will have a great reception. The closest they've played is Toronto, so there will definitely be a lot of (clears throat) older people going to see them.
  6. i couldn't begin to remember if my high school or college even had songs.
  7. a fair amount of the bands weren't really in my wheelhouse, and there were ~130 credentialed photographers which made the photo pit a sardine tin, but overall I enjoyed myself. review and photos from each day: http://bit.ly/TKMEt3 http://bit.ly/1mlhkZB http://bit.ly/1oFpxdz
  8. To be fair, I've never seen The Sopranos, though.
  9. just back from the 3rd day of Boston Calling...my feet are killing me. some pretty good shows. some stuff that is totally not my speed. was impressed by the final song of Brand New. Phosphorescent also kicked major ass on a couple of songs.
  10. yeah i can see how he'd want to move on from that. so he busted out a Brainbombs cover or two instead, right? tonight, night 1 of Boston Calling...definitely the weakest (Jack Johnson, Edward Sharpe, Cass McCombs)
  11. lol..."Diane" and "Turn On The News" would have been top picks for me too.
  12. really? i've clicked that link several times w/o nothing adverse coming up, and my computer has malwarebytes running.
  13. i am really bummed that All Tomorrow's Parties only held three events at this place... despite the dodgy looks if it (and keep in mind the last one was held in 2010), it was such a great experience: http://gothamist.com/2014/05/21/kutshers_photos.php#photo-1
  14. yeah, by return to form i really meant return to quality. GGB and TBTD were pretty spotty....EO is a ton better. Decoration Day is my fave DBT record, but The Dirty South is not far behind.
  15. fanbase says EO is a return to form...probably the strongest record since Brighter Than Creation's Dark.
  16. the two times I've seen Petty is good enough for me. actually, i ended up preferring the opening bands each time (The Replacements, My Morning Jacket).
  17. another good one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_D7WEwaLo4
  18. well, at least you won't be able to see anything.
  19. they probably spend that much just going out for routine dinners.
  20. their target audience are people in their 50's who probably go to 2-3 shows a year, so dropping that cash on a ticket isn't a big deal.
  21. it's got two good songs. nay, brilliant songs. but it's hardly their finest record.
