  1. so f'in good. i love that band, and it was so great to see them on stage again. if you saw the TT's show, the show was shorter (there was some lesbian/gay/tranny cabaret/performance art thing beforehand, which was actually pretty entertaining), and i don't think they played any songs they hadn't before but it was amazing.
  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUl1A7zSvCI this ends with the particularly devastating line of: "When was the first time you realized the next time would be the last time?"
  3. well ebay is the great equalizer...if someone's got an overpriced LP hanging on the wall, it'll likely sit there. i didn't see that link, btw.
  4. not sure what the hell the nonsense is before 0:16, but when The Delgados start singing Burns' "Parcel Of Rogues" it's great
  5. so the used record store owners are greedy...got it. why aren't you into new music? nothing else needs to be said that Dylan or Lennon hadn't already? you shouldn't need 'big photos' to help you understand an aural experience; maybe you are doing it wrong. my main point is that for people who enjoy records made by small labels, the chances of finding a used copy, never mind one for under $10, isn't very feasible at all. and greed has nothing to do w/ it.
  6. because small labels like Three Lobed, Subliminal Sounds, Poon Village, Erstwhile, Kranky, Sublime Frequencies, Olde English Spelling Bee, Captured Tracks, Editions Mego, etc are all run w/ greedy people at the helm.

  10. so what did you do w/ yr precious moments? we need a blog post.
  11. thanks, lam and scott. it was a fun show to shoot. the bands didn't care about flash, and there was tons of action.
  12. well i've seen 'em a bunch, and i'm not sure i need to see a set that is 2/3rds comprised of "La Novia" and "Pink Lady Lemonade" again...
  13. I'm not motivated enough to go drive in to see Acid Mothers Temple tonight.
  14. it's probably easier for Dave to dump his tour bus sewage there w/o getting hassled.
  15. hopefully i'll get that review done tonight, but here's a sneak preview...Ritzy was kind enough to move over next to one of the pool tables in the back room for a quick shot.
  16. i wasn't covering the show for anyone, just went as a fan (and brought my camera along, as the club allows anyone to bring one), but maybe i'll do a quick writeup along w/ the photos when i get a chance this weekend (still working on a backlog that includes Agalloch, Buffalo Tom and The Joy Formidable). My friends and I had a chance to shoot the shit w/ Tom Watson before the show, while the 2nd band was playing, and that was a lot of fun. Watt and his band are down-to-earth, genuinely nice people w/ no pretensions. and the show kicked ass. much like OFF!'s new record channels early Flag and
