i saw two extremely fun non-English singing bands on Sunday, at the ATP that Animal Collective curated, over in Minehead, England. The first was one I'm familiar w/ and have an LP (Group Doueh), and the other I had no idea about (Khaira Arby). both were really fun, great dancing and party music. During Arby's set, a couple of the singer/dancers from Doueh joined on stage for a song or two.

Cracker's a decent band, but imo Camper is way better.

the thing about tJL, even w/ the noise rock tag, is that they had arguably among the best in music at each of the respective roles... macneilly - monster drummer denison - wildly inventive, could bring all full rawk or play spidery, complex runs sims - played the bass like wrestling a python yow - what more could you ask of a front man?

it's not on youtube, but The Delgados' cover of GBV's "Indian Fables" is a very cool cover.

how about Black Elk? i voted Deerhunter, easily the best of the 3. i've not seen Deer Tick, have seen Deerhoof twice. once from their hotel room window.
