  7. i haven't, but a friend of mine has been raving about it. i would heartily recommend Black Pyramid's self-titled cd...it's really good in a down-tuned/riff swamp sabbathy way.
  8. i saw the 1st three, then hopped in a cab to catch the Buzzcocks. who were awesome!!
  9. you know that Mick carefully watched the sales figures of the Beatles' remasters...
  10. nah...i realize that CS isn't on Exile, but it's a better song for PG to cover
  11. no one ever seems to talk about _Dehumanizer_. the song "I" is probably my favorite Dio-fronted song ever.
  12. awful news. i was really hoping that he'd beat cancer and be back on stage this year. last year's show was really great, so i count myself fortunate to have seen it.
  13. i was interested in seeing BoH open for Pearl Jam, but apparently their change in record label has also created changes in other areas...they are insisting that i sign a release that gives the copyright of photos i take, w/ no compensation due me. uh, no thanks. i'll sit outside until you are done.
  14. yep, i'm good to go for both shows. should be fun.
  15. yeah, cassette-only. i'm sure a blog scour can turn up the mp3s. edit - http://www.discogs.com/Pussy-Galore-Exile-On-Main-St/release/1214290 Recorded with Pussy Galore Mobile Unit Aug 24-26 1986. Originally released on cassette only, this was booted onto vinyl i think i have the PG _Year One_ tape, but not Exile. the rumor i'd heard in the past is that Sonic Youth heard about PG's plans, and they were gonna do a cover version of the White Album (or maybe it was Sgt Pepper's). too bad that didn't happen.
  16. which is why they should have Pussy Galore doing 'Cocksucker Blues'
  17. that's just crazy talk. when the band is in full power at the 'something in my veins/bloodier than blood' part, it's shivers down the spine time. every time.
  18. just find a local taxi and call 'em for an estimate
  19. it's obvious. junior five doesn't think it's core enough.
  20. Pussy Galore should do "Cocksucker Blues" on Friday.
  21. neil's newer stuff kinda sucks, but he's not coasting ray davies can still write excellent material same w/ tom petty
