Just thinking how great it'll be catching her next Spring. Can't wait.

Personally I really dig it (pun intended). Wide mouth aluminum coal shovel, and trying to pitch it as far as I can until I'm outta breath. Of course it doesn't happen all that often in VA. And I miss having old folks living nearby whom I could shovel for...

Chunky Glasses and Backpacks! I feel cleansed.

Masked Hater maybe? Infamous... (FAMOUS..hmm) for diatribes involving mocha lattes, scarves and hipster glasses. Trust funds, cliques etc. Capable of a verbal beat-down not unlike an assault via The Minnesota Wrecking Crew. Curmudgeon extraordinaire.

VC Book Club: The Brief, Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao

Guys: I actually just started this book last night (pg53 at the moment). Past few weeks have been kinda hectic. It should be cold and rainy here in VA this weekend, + there is currently a wide assortment of relaxing adult beverages @ the house. This means I should be available for discourse early next week (although I may be somewhat incoherent due to aforementioned foreshadowing). Until then, I'm not reading the content of your posts.... -
Quoted for truth. If not record profits at least potentially in much better shape. The Volt is a perfect example of why GM is in the predicament it's in. A flawed platform intentionally executed to maximize profit on outdated inefficient technology. GM, unlike small boutique exotic manufacturers who lack production infrastructure, has the know how and the ability to bring a totally consumer friendly and affordable electric car to market. It'll take a major shift in the direction of their product line to bring customers back. Maybe that'll happen and prove to be the potential silver lining i

Deerhunter's Microcastle

Yup, same here.

It's out there... I dunno what the deal is on the cover art.

Cryptograms struck me as interesting but chaotic and often too dissonant. Unfocused and maybe trying to hard to wow the listener with texture. The songs on Microcastle are of a more cohesive conventional structure that are still colored with the sonic embellishments of the previous record only to, my ears, better effect. Sorry that sounds so damn pretentious.

Coffee spit on screen makes for a pixilated mess. Tks sir...

On a much lesser scale ( than Solace anyway who's exposure to new material is prolly "Gi-Normous ) I just get overwhelmed by new releases. I downloaded the new Deerhunter when it leaked also. Upon it's actual release and subsequent press I got around to re-visiting it. Nice surprise.

I like the Sam Phillips pick. Def. on board with Jolie Holland's "The living and the Dead" as a fav this year. And oh yeah...no list but Microcastle is effing great.

You didn't happen to have bought the one that Rumble Seat music in Ithaca NY had earlier this week did you? -
True Story: When I was a little guy around ten yrs old, which would put us around the 1977 time frame, there was a man in our neighborhood who had one of these cars. His was light blue with black stripes/accents. Kind of a frail looking scrawny fellow, buried deep in that bucket seat in his ubiquitous white tee shirt. He lived in a very small house about four doors down from us along with his wife and son. The boy was probably five or six years old. He seemed quiet and detached, she was pretty and gregarious. I don't recall much about their son actually. He shot and killed his wife with
