  1. Thanks for the tip! Do you have to call their customer service to get the first tickets reimbursed if you buy better ones later?
  2. I've been checking over and over again up til now and it's still offered me nothing closer than Middle Loge.
  3. This presale for Irvine is LAME. Loggd in right at 10 AM and the closer seats/first tier of pricing wasn't even an option. It just keeps directing me to the last section of seats and that's what my girlfriend ended up getting because she was worred about not getting anything at all. Of course, now they are starting to offer better seats. Still nothing past the second tier of pricing. Guess we should have just waited for the general onsale.
  4. I don't think it sounds rushed. Sounds great to my ears!
  5. Awesome that you got Bermuda Highway! I've been crossing my fingers that he might do that one as a solo acoustic thing all along, so I'm glad to see it's a possibility. Also lovin' all the MOF stuff. Hope His Masters Voice stays on the set til I see the show in LA in a couple weeks.
  6. Really excited that this show is happening! Hope Wilco and MMJ's sets are at least kind of long-ish... At any rate I am there for the Irvine show. So thankful that they are covering so much ground on this tour.
  7. I always thought Casino Queen had a Stones vibe.
  8. Poster says Doors open at 4 PM... Hope they come to California... I would make the trip to Red Rocks if that happened (or anywhere in CO for that matter).
  9. That was the tour I saw them on too! I wasn't as hot on Blitzen Trapper but Dawes was why I went to the show in the first place.
  10. This is totally a true statement. Saw them at the Music Box Theatre here in LA on thier last tour and it was a really great show. The have a killer energy in the live shows. Just waiting for them to announce a date in LA on this tour..........
  11. Been listening to the new Dawes album - Stories Don't End today. I'm really liking it on my first few listens. I'm much more warm on this one from the start than I was on their last album (which I eventually came around on). This one is pretty strong in my opinion though. Good lyrics - not as much of the hokey-ness in the writing going on this time around. It's a lot of the things I like from their other 2 albums blended together. There's definitely more jazz happening on this record - the last release felt very Neil Young/Jackson Brown and this release feels a lot more like The Band (an
  12. I just picked up a copy of Automatic For The People on vinyl for my girlfriend for her birthday. Looking forward to hearing it. Personally, I'd like to get a copy of Reckoning next. I think that would probably sound pretty sweet on wax.
  13. Pretty healthy mix of UT, Loose Fur, Golden Smog tunes. I was pretty bummed to see no Chinese Apple (one of my favorite Jeff songs from Wilco or Non). Also - no Blasting Fonday, which would have been an obvious pick to me. consequenceofsound.net/2013/03/the-15-best-non-wilco-jeff-tweedy-songs/
  14. Here's the 10 I'd pick without overthinking... David Gilmour Albert King Neil Young Jimi Hendrix Duane Allman Nils Lofgren John McLaughlin Mick Ronson Nels Cline Chris Funk
  15. +1 for the covers in Life Aquatic. Super Duper Awesomeness going on there. As for albums - I've always really liked Hunky Dory.
  16. Been listening to these two lately, myself.
  17. See THIS THREAD on gearslutz. I found this in another thread here on the board (that specific thread I can't remember anymore...) It's got some comments from an engineer who worked the Ghost Is Born sessions. Look for the posts by Chris Shaw. There are also some great pictures of the room set up that he posted. There is a lot of great info here. The Wilco Book also has a lot of awesome stuff about Sear Sound and the writing/constructing/recording of Ghost.
  18. Hey friends - My band Northern Strangers has independently recorded, produced and released our debut album of psychedelic folk rock music called MONSTERS! this year. You may have previously heard us if you listened to the Via Chicago Wilco Tribute #3 - I'm The Fan Who Loves You. We recorded a cover of You Are My Face for that. It was really awesome to have our track included in that compilation. We are pretty proud of our album and we want to get some folks to hear it, so I wanted to offer up a link for a free mp3 download for anyone interesed. I've got a .zip file of tagged 320k mp3'
  19. Good Post! I can't believe how mesmerizing Nels is, even when he's just creating something in the moment like that. A true wizard of rock!
  20. Agreed. Good interview - Thanks for posting! I'm pretty excited to hear what Jeff is working on with White Denim.
