  1. Gotta love the Cardinals giving the Nats hell in the NLDS! Getting some good run support.
  2. Ditto on this. I've seen the band 5 times this year and I'm going for #6 in Vail, CO in December. I'm just as excited to go to that show as I was to go the first show I saw in San Diego back in January. I'm sorry for your loss (of interest).
  3. I was really happy with the amount of YHF in the show last night.
  4. I had a blast at this show. I know that they playing a lot of "the hits" and not many nuggets, but I really didn't expect a lot of off the wall choices for a show in front of 18,000 people (many of whom, were obviously not diehard Wilco fans). It was a treat getting both Sunken Treasure and Ashes at this show. (I had been requesting both repeatedly) It was my first time seeing any full band version of Sunken Treasure and I'm really glad they played the Being There version. I think this version just rocks so much harder with everyone involved. Ashes was quite spectacular as well. Nels wa
  5. I received Summerteeth on vinyl for my birthday last month and I'm just breaking in a brand new record needle listening to it for the first time. It sounds so, so, so, so good. Now, I'm off to request Pieholden Suite for the Hollywood Bowl about a thousand times before Sunday... Listening to Via Chicago right now... the sound is so great on vinyl. EDIT: I can't express how much my appreciation for this album has grown since hearing it on vinyl. It's like a whole different world.
  6. I listened to Walk Like A Giant today and it's pretty badass. As mentioned before, the guitars in fact do sound great. Can't wait to hear more.
  7. The last Carmeggedon had everyone so scared that the highways actually ended up clearer than they normally would be on a weekend. There was no traffic at all. Just leave some extra time to get where you're going and you should be fine.
  8. I been around since fuckin' 19 eighty-fucking-eight.
  9. They ended the Hollywood Palladium in this fashion. I highly enjoyed it.
  10. It was such a blast to see these three shows. It was my first experience seeing them as well as my girlfriends' first. We were more than pleased. They really have a ridiculous live show; and they do know how to rock 'n roll. All Night Long was so good. So much fun. So much dancing.
  11. Thanks for posting this link! I have been listening to this show today to and from work and it kicks major butt. And double ditto on the above comment about Handshake Drugs... I love these early versions. I really dig this show from earlier in 2003 in Pittsburgh (I know I've seen others mention it in other threads but I'm not sure it's been mentioned here yet - http://wilcoarchive.com/wilco%2020030621/ - damn good sound. one of my favorite versions of Ashes to start the show off - plus an awesome early Muzzle of Bees and Spiders and Kicking Television. I really like the versions of
  12. Saw My Morning Jacket with Iron and Wine opening tonight. Both sets were great. In Iron and Wine, he basically stood there chatting with the audience and took requests the entire set, save a few newer songs he wanted to play. That is a very talented musician. Great voice. MMJ was killer. This was my second show. Also saw them last night with Portugal, The Man opening. I wasn't as into Portugal. Their mix was really muddy, which didn't help They did a great version of Helter Skelter though. I am really impressed with My Morning Jacket as a live outfit. They have a lot of energy an
  13. I'm going to all 3 of the MMJ shows at the Wiltern this week in LA. I read that they just announce no repeats in the setlist over the course of the 3 night run. That's pretty cool. Anyone else going to these shows?
  14. No worries. I'm pretty sure there are still tickets available on Ticketmaster.
  15. The frontgate presale for this show happened back in May.
  16. Right On!!! Thanks for jumping on the cause!!! It's that last show of the US part of the tour, maybe they will let loose and bring Dash 7 to the Bowl.
  17. This thread made me start requesting this song for the Hollywood Bowl. I'm aware it's an impossibility, but it would be kick butt. There are not enough pretty words to portray my love for this song.
  18. I think that just depends what your subjective definition of "at their best" would be. I wouldn't go as far as to say one is better or worse, but I will say that this is a completely different flavor of Wilco than the current line-up/sound.
