VC'ers Bands on You Tube
Muzzle of Dan replied to Ghost of Electricity's topic in Solid State Technology
Here is my band, Northern Strangers doing a little Wilco for Halloween last night. -
I saw Pavement and Sonic Youth last night at the Hollywood Bowl. What a show! Both bands were incredible. I wish they cold have both played longer sets, but I really have nothing to complain about. Sonic Youth played for about 45 minutes and barreled through quite an incredible set. Lots of 80's tunes - which was pretty awesome. Pavement played for about an hour and 20 minutes. Malkmus seemed to be hurrying along toward the end of the show to get as many songs in as possible. They were cut off due to curfew. Before Range Life, Malkmus urged "c'mon- they only gave me 5 minutes!" he also apol

Haha - that's what I was attempting to quote/paraphrase... -
Thanks for the reviews!!! I'm so excited to see this show. I'm going to the 2nd night in LA. It's great to start hearing some details about the show coming out.

Would be great fun to go to the rallies... but work demands that I stay here... "Legalize Pot" - I don't know how that got in there... -

Wilco 9/3/10 Aspen/Snowmass Jazzfest
Muzzle of Dan replied to Muzzle of Dan's topic in After The Show
Thanks!!! Indeed, I was also at the Tweedy show in St. Louis the week before this. I ran into some good fortune and happened to be able to have access to both of these right places at the right times. It was very awesome to have both of these shows within a week. Here it is a week later and I still can't get over how incredible it all was. Fortunately - I've got Pavement/Sonic Youth and Arcade Fire coming up within the next month to help sooth my concert going needs. Then there is Roger Waters' The Wall show after Thanksgiving. It's definitely been a great year of concert-going all aro -
I did not see any tapers either. There was a big notice on the festival page that pro audio recording equipment was prohibited. Completely agreed that it would have been a good one though.

Just an incredible show. This was my 3rd time seing the band. We made the drive out from L.A. and it was WELL worth the time in the car. The drive was pretty lovely and the band is just awesome. They were really on tonight and seemed to be having a lot of fun They bring an immense amount of energy and put on such a tight show. The setlist was super choice. I'll leave the setlist to someone else because I had too much fun to keep track of what was happening. Some highlights: Ashes - first time I've seen this live and it was super mega epic. Mountainbed - appropriately played as we wer

If you go to shows on the website and then click the link to buy tickets, a box pops up that gives you the option to request a song or buy tickets. Once you request a song, it then shows you the top requests for the show.

I am also heading to see Wilco this weekend! I just saw Jeff in St. Louis last weekend and it was nothing short of awesome. Jeff was in great spirits and seemed to have a lot of fun at that show. Everything I've read and heard from Solid sound was all positive and great! I hope that this trend of random setlists continues... Wishful Thinking is currently the top request on WilcoWorld.

Thanks for posting the actual setlist! The Cicero's thing was really funny. Also - as far as the photo and video stuff at this show... I think that the festival policies were honored more than any band policies. I know that the festival was allowing in any cameras, as long as they weren't pro-style with detachable lenses. However, they specifically stated that any kind of audio recording equipment was prohibited - I don't know if any recordings will be showing up of this one... there are lots of youtube videos up from people's camera's and phones, though.

Apparently the Mayor of St. Louis proclaimed 8/29 to be Jeff Tweedy day. Jeff said that everyone should be off work tomorrow because Jeff Tweedy Day is a 3-day weekend. My first Tweedy solo show! So awesome. I don't have a setlist but he did play One Wing - which was stellar! Also, I loved Misunderstood addressed to the hometown crowd. Lots of funny banter - played the guitar solo from Hummingbird after the song and said "you can go back and put that in.. with Protools or Garageband or something Loved the story that accompanied New Madrid, where he talked about the big to-do over

Thank You!!! So Awesome - here's hoping he does it at Loufest in a couple weeks...

Got my tickets too!!! Having an awesome musical festival day in the Lou with my folks. Can't wait to see Jeff solo for the first time!!! I'm also making the trip to see the band at the Aspen Jazzfest on labor day weekend. Pretty sweet to see two shows within a week!!!

I still have my original iPod Mini. It's a freak of nature and it keeps on ticking.

We couldn't get tickets through ticketmaster or the box office - so ended up doing the presale of $295 for one pair of tickets at Staples Center. The seats are in the 1st section behind the floor and center. For $150 bucks a pop (basically), I'm pretty pleased. I had to pay $130 for secondhand tickets to see Radiohead at the Hollywood Bowl in 2008 and the seats for that weren't near as good as these. Many thanks to the replies from my earlier post of others seeing the show first! I'm excited to hear what you think. Personally - I'm stoked for this show. It's gonna be awesome - even if

Wilco on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson May 10
Muzzle of Dan replied to u2roolz's topic in Just A Fan
This song is awesome. I liked it on the album and live when I saw them back in June... ahh how long it's been... I liked this performance too. Glenn is a monster on the kit. Even on the quieter tunes. He's always doing so much, adding so much texture. He's the man. -
I just downloaded this show and the set list is just ridiculous. Ridiculous.

Your Favorite Nuances/Parts of Wilco Songs
Muzzle of Dan replied to choo-choo-charlie's topic in Just A Fan
The way that Everlasting, Everything just disappears into thin air at the end of the song. The guitar squiggles are epic. In At Least That's What You Said, the first time that all the instruments hit together in that strict rhythm pattern. The transition from Spiders (Kidsmoke) into Muzzle of Bees on A Ghost Is Born. All the little nuances of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot - from the part when I'm The Man Who Loves You comes in over the end of I Am Trying To Break Your Heart to the entire wash of feedback at the end of Reservations. When the middle section of You Are My Face Kicks in and - "all
