I'm super excited to be seeing Sufjan Stevens this evening. I was shut out of the presale, and had no luck during the regular on sale. I had accepted the fact that I wouldn't be going, but continued to check Ticketmaster once or twice a day. A week or two ago I logged in and pulled 6th row center. Sort of can't believe it! I'm in love with his new record, and can't wait to hear those songs live!

If you're willing to make the haul to Monson, MA you should check out Tree House Brewing. They recently started canning their beers (in addition to growler fills), and they are pumping out some amazing beer. I've been drinking more TH than Trillium lately, myself. Ha!

I so regret not picking up the vinyl set. I had it in my cart and decided it was too expensive. Ugh.... Listening on Spotify until I can find it at a reasonable price.

I had an awesome trip up to Portland, ME last weekend for Allagash's release of Resurgam, one of their limited Coolship beers. This is the type of beer that I'd drink most often, if I could. The bottle reads: Coolship Resurgam is brewed with Pilsner malt, raw wheat and aged hops. The beer is cooled overnight using outside air temperature in a traditional large shallow pan known as a "coolship." Boxer was the album that got me. Specifically the song "Mistaken for Strangers," which is still a favorite. I find myself listening to High Violet and their latest, Trouble Will Find Me, the most. They are definitely one of the better rock bands I've ever seen. The Dessner brothers are a lot of fun to watch, and Matt's a total lunatic when he gets into it (or when he's into the white wine).

Totally understand what you're saying, Hwllo. Limited beers that do see some local distribution often end up at bottle shops where they remain behind the counter for regulars, or off the shelf and available to "those in the know" who care to ask for them.
