What current Christmas TV Commercials Drive You Crazy?
sonicshoulder replied to kidsmoke's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I wish this was the case at my local Home Depot. I'm in my local HD about 5 times a week and they circle worse than a car lot. "Can I help you, need help finding anything,........looking for something in particular?" "Yeah I am asshole and I know exactly where the fuck its at. Not to mention I remember the day you got hired last month cause I was in here dropping another two hundred fucking dollars. If you don't quit following me around with that apron and those creepy measuring tape suspenders I'm going to ask you a moderately difficult question about your so called expertise at which t -
You made the right call. Nels will forget about you ditching him half way through the first song...your wife on the other hand...

What current Christmas TV Commercials Drive You Crazy?
sonicshoulder replied to kidsmoke's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
This year my wife finally opened up to me. Every year I get her a brand new Lexus with a big red bow and put it in our living room for Christmas. Well aparently she was getting bored with it. I was completly lost on gift ideas this year until I saw those Acura commercials so I am very thankful for them. -

It's an attempt to comfort middle America to the fact we have our first president that can grow an Afro. I mean Nixon with bean sprouts coming out of his scalp would have looked just ridiculous. -
I expected this thread to be about a new one on one basketball game for the Atari 7200....very dissapointed.

Band that you like the 'idea of'...
sonicshoulder replied to Vacant Horizon's topic in Someone Else's Song
Willing to face the consequences here but Uncle Tupelo. I like most others around here am obviously a huge Wilco fan and am quite fond of most Son Volt and Farrar projects(especially the latest with Ben Gibbard). That being said I discovered UT after Wilco and Son Volt and was dissapointed. I just expected more and alot of the lyrics were really dissapointing for me. I think it was a had to be there deal for me. -
I thought this was a Doonesbury thread...my bad.

I agree, not to get to political in a non political forum but politics is about the lesser of two evils. I'm only 30 but I can't ever remember having more confidence in one canidate than I did doubt in the other. I often wonder back in the day, did people really like let's just say James Buchanan...or really not like Millard Fillmore.

Basically what I was saying. "Almost" as in one McCain stroke away from most powerful person on the planet. I still get chills thinking about it.

Sarah Palin was almost President of the United States.

"...free shipping on orders over $100.00..." Which at these prices comes out to 10 cd's and 14 shirts. Not bad at all.

Dawes on with Craig Ferguson
sonicshoulder replied to Sweet Papa Crimbo's topic in Someone Else's Song
I just saw them again a couple weeks ago in Louisville and they were on it as always. I have a two hour drive to the Ville and went wed. night for Dawes and fri. for MMJ. Dawes have some serious energy and the bassist and keys player are super talented. Some "albums" don't have to be heard on vinyl but North Hills was made for it. I picked one up at the Cincinnati show and the guys were kind enough to sign it for me(nothin like a 30 year old man waiting in line for an autograph). Taylor is a true showmen. Romany Rye was great by the way, I'd call em Fleet Foxes meet Black Crowes but I may be b -
The orchestra worked great. They were on the back of the stage and elevated about 6 feet higher. They didn't "overuse" them as seen below. Wax Fang was really good but there was a ridiculous amount of feedback coming through a speaker on the left side of the stage about twenty feet from my ear for about 5 songs. It was so bad the whole floor applauded when they fixed it. I felt bad for those guys, they were dressed as Tron and ready to jam but the feedback was really pissing them off. People were dressed up and the city was rocking. Jim even did Bermuda Highway dressed as Col. Sanders with a

I found an old Magnavox console for $5 at a yard sale. Straight out of the 70's... It's freakin beatiful. Tuner,cassette,8-track, and a direct drive turntable that plays 45s great but all my 33s are playing too fast. I put a 45 on the 33 setting to see if it wasn't switching speeds but the 33 setting is not playing at 45rpm. I see some set/adjustment screws but don't want to just start moving things I don't need to move. I'd love to get this thing jammin for the garage. The number on the back of the speakers starts with "ONK", wondering if they are Onkyos. I would think Magnavox was using it's

Now that was classic, I played my normal role of asshole in that thread by saying that guy should dump his girlfriend who was trying to cut him off from his family...interested to see how they are doing.

Lets just talk abortion for a while until everybody calms down around here. The over sensitizing of America is working, white people are now getting more upset over race topics then blacks. It was a line in a sit-com by a comedic actress....nobody should have been offended.

Rumor is Mavis will be on the bongos for Spiders...or they might play You Are Not Alone. MMJ next Tues. the 12th, f.y.i.

I am so glad they make kids shows like this now. My girls don't like it nearly as much as I do though so I find myself begging them to watch it. Shouldn't they be begging me to watch certain shows? p.s. my vote for all time though still goes to Nightcourt.

This is a huge revelation! So smoking weed gave me these tits but how do you explain the vagina forming in my knee-pit...shrooms?

I know it doesn't make for a very juicy thread but this all depends on opinion and perception. People in this thread have asked for more folk, less folk, experimentation, darker, lighter, more rock, more rawk even. Can someone name me a Wilco album that doesn't contain folk,rock,experimentation,...etc. Every album cant be Yankee and AGIB. If it were people would bitch they haven't evolved enough.
