  1. I always thought she was anti-internet in general. I guess she has changed her mind.
  2. It's hard to believe Neko Case is using Twitter. We can bitch all we want, but that is how it is everywhere these days.
  3. I actually love the sounds some of these bands produce with a Mettotron. Mainly, I am thinking of The Moody Blues.
  4. Conmemorativo: A Tribute to Gram Parsons I don't have that one. But I have the other one, and the documentary/concert - which I taped when it as on TV back in the day.
  5. You can also watch the band playing the song in the Gram Parsons All-Star Tribute - Sessions At West 54th documentary (1999).
  6. Moon The Loon is all the legends and myths, and Dear Boy is the debunking of those myths and legends. Or something like that.
  7. I think he was - as he was obliviously obsessed with being fit. Which would have been pretty uncommon in those days. In the early days, he was the one who broke out the fists when there was trouble. I think he was almost kicked out of the band for beating up Keith once. I've read about that night many, many times over the years. When Youtube came along, I got to see it. In Dougal's (Keith's assistant) book he devotes a whole bunch of space to that incident.
  8. Of course, the reason Roger spent so much time trying to set-up the songs is that most people in this country did not have any idea about The Mod movement. Even more interesting is that (the Mod movement) it came back when the film came out. I figure once you see film of guys chugging Southern Comfort, bad shit is bound to happen at some point.
  9. It ended on a bummer. I've read about Roger punching him many times, but I don't think I've ever heard them mention it in an non-print interview.
  10. They did have problems with that tour. I figured Irish Jack would pop-up in the documentary. It's nice to see some sexy old birds in there. Can you imagine being able to watch the band record?
  11. I'm watching it on Youtube right now. Quadrophenia: Can You See The Real Me? Someone in the comments section says the studio is now a Doctor's office. It use to be a church before The Who bought it. The house he is sitting in is The Wick. It use to be Ron Wood's house.
  12. I think that may be the same film that is going to be shown during one of those one night only deals at movie theaters. I seem to recall receiving an email about that recently.
  13. That's a great film. The version of Young Man Blues from that show is fantastic. Plus - you get a few songs you don't usually get to see the band play (Water and I Don't Even Know Myself).
  14. Hey, I've been in that alleyway. And they still have that van.
  15. I never did either. And if I could pick a time, it would be the 1971 tour. His first wife and son sold just about everything in a big auction sometime after he died. Including the mansion/estate you see him walking around in during parts of The Kids Are Alright.
  16. I am a Who fan from way back, and was saddened to hear how he went out. I know they took a lot of shit for going on with the tour after he died. I saw an episode of Pawn Stars a while back where a woman brought in a silver Walkman that once belonged to John. That was Maxine, his second wife.
  17. I was joking on our age difference. I am still surprised they got Neil to tour again. They also switched record labels.
  18. I don't recall any of those bands doing Rush songs, mostly it was Southern Rock. If they did play one, it was probably Working Man. Also -
  19. They seem to be in the camera eye quite a bit these days. I read somewhere that the new album sold over 100,000 copies last week. It's nice to see some new people getting into the band. As stated several times, I generally prefer the earlier stuff. If you have not heard the first album, Fly By Night, Caress of Steel (The Fountain of Lamneth), 2112, All The World's A Stage (particularly the live 2112 section), and A Farewell To Kings - be sure to check those albums out. Speaking of the film, I wonder if bands still play in high schools? I suppose not. I was in HS during the first four yea
  20. I have not heard the new album yet - I suppose I may check it out at some point. A rather long two part interview with Billy Corgan and Geddy Lee: Part 1 Part 2
