  1. I think he lived there until he was 12 or so, and then they moved to California. Maybe they will have a Zappa Day in California at some point. Proclamation and photos by way of Fank Zappa.com
  2. I can't believe they are putting out some of this stuff, but I guess they are. West Coast Seattle Boy: The Jimi Hendrix Anthology
  3. They don't want to talk about Jesus, they just want to see Jeff's face.
  4. Neil Young Stands Tall in 'Hitchhiker' Video
  5. It use to be you could find some of those on Youtube. The last time I went to watch the Machine Head episode, the audio track had been replaced with classical music. I have read about the Rush episodes, but I have not seen them.
  6. I have that on my Amazon list. I think I saw that film when I was a kid. It was on Cinemax. The latest music film I bought was The Moody Blues - Threshold of a Dream: Live at the Isle of Wight Festival. It is not the whole show, as apparently not all of the film has survived. The Isle of Wight Festival (1970) is one of my favorite concerts to watch. There are several audio/video releases from the concert. I sort of wish they would put them all together at some point, in a multiple DVD box set. Message To Love (directed and produced by Murray Lerner) is a feature documentary film of the Is
  7. The other day, I read some article about her where she mentioned something about "almost being married to Bob Dylan". I don't recall ever hearing that before.
  8. When I get into a band, I always start with the first album, and go from there. Like Wilco, their sound has changed over time. Warpaint live is just a live version of the Warpaint album. They do have a so-called Greatest Hits album, but I think it would be easier for you just to dig around on Youtube and check out some songs. If you wanted to just buy some albums, I would get The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, Amorica, and Before the Frost...Until the Freeze.
  9. You can go to Crowesbase and see what they have been playing. If you just want to hear some songs, you could just go to Youtube and look up some clips.
  10. I think they are all good. If you want to see the band with Marc, then you will want Freak 'n' Roll.
  11. I respect her, but the music is not my cup of tea.
  12. That's it. They are doing that one on the current tour.
  13. Probably somewhat similar to all the White Stripe fans who bought Van Lear Rose.
  14. I think this is the first Rush thread we have had around here. What's that song Aimee Mann sings on? That video cracks me up. I was surprised that Les Claypool was not in the recent documentary more - as I recall, there is only one or two clips of him talking about the band.
  15. I have a bootleg of the film. I may try to go see it tonight.
  16. The Black Crowes: Who Killed That Bird Out On Your Windowsill?(1992) Freak 'n' Roll...Into the Fog: The Black Crowes All Join Hands, The Fillmore, San Francisco (2006) Chris Robinson and Rich Robinson: Brothers of a Feather - Live at the Roxy (2007)
  17. There are Rush shows being posted at Dime a Dozen almost everyday as of late.
  18. He does not even record those duets with the person in the same room. It's a shame he is stuck doing those albums. But, I don't even think he had a record contract in this country until the first one of those cover album he did.
  19. As you probably know, he is not really into people bothering him. That is one of reasons that guy rides with him I think. There is a photo on his site somewhere from the last tour that shows him standing outside a gas station in the town where I grew up.
  20. The Hunt for Atlantis The Tomb of Hercules The Secret of Excalibur The Covenant of Genesis -Andy McDermott You Never Give Me Your Money: The Beatles After the Breakup -Peter Doggett Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs by Derek and the Dominos (Rock of Ages) -Jan Reid Dangerously Funny: The Uncensored Story of The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour -David Bianculli
  21. Neil just posted a new update on his News, Weather, and Sports site: Cruel Summer
  22. Another Billboard article: Bruce Springsteen Premieres 'Darkness' Doc, Chats with Edward Norton Racing In The Street is one of my favorite Bruce songs.
  23. They called it that as they were not doing very well at the time.
