  1. I'd say they had some this-song-sounds-like-another-song songs in the very early days, but, I'd say they have long since got their own sound together. Just like R.E.M., Pearl Jam, The Cars, etc. have their own sound. I've said it before, but, if I want to listen to Neil Young, I listen to Neil Young, not some band that makes most of their music sound like Neil Young.
  2. It's on the official Wilco site: Request A Song
  3. There is also a website or two out there with old articles/interviews like the one GtrPlyr posted. The Gumbo Pages: Uncle Tupelo Wilco Actually, the other one was a Geocities Page, which is now gone. I copied and saved them all a while back. The whole deal comes out to 117 pages, which is too much to post here. It looks like the Wayback Machine has it: Nutnhunee (articles and interviews)
  4. You might want to check out this book: Wilco: Learning How to Die Maybe this one too: The Wilco Book
  5. For The Love of Dolly (2006) It's a trip when people become obsessed with a celebrity.
  6. Here is a link to a nice page with photos and text: Jerry's guitars. Maybe someone could make a page like that for Jeff.
  7. It could be a Specimen Guitar, as some of them are made out of aluminum.
  8. He began using the guitar (a Travis Beam TB 1000A) in 1975. According to Wikipedia:
  9. That's a new one to me. I have never heard of Psychoacoustics. Bluebeat.com I hope that guy has a lot of money for lawyer fees.
  10. It all goes together. You should hear the sound of the early tracks - such as Cry For A Shadow.
  11. Or, Like Lou Reed, changed the word to black.
  12. It's not fun, that's for sure. How did they handle the lyrics to Sweet Black Angel? When I was a kid I could not make out the words to that song.
  13. I figure it is out there. I never knew about that until I read it in The Complete Beatles Chronicle.
  14. Not a bonus or hidden track as described in the Youtube/Wikipedia listing, but rather a mistake that was left in: I think that take is off of the Alternate Abbey Road - or whatever it is called (Beatles bootleg).
  15. Thanks. I will check that source out later. I have a rip in my eardrum again, so no music for me for a while.
  16. And now he has a new one out. I was joking the other day that he must own The History Chanel and a few other channels. I noticed there were various documentaries on that had to do with the subject of his book. And in some cases, they were simply infomercials for his book. He is smart - he took the genre of men's adventure stories/action adventure/historical writing, stole some stuff from other books, mixed them together, and came out on top. He has sold over 100 million books so far, I do believe. Those who dislike Moby Dick should check out this version: Moby Dick (DVD)(1998).
  17. I read something somewhere once about how all those old bands had to clean up if they wanted to become video stars - so that is how we got old dudes dressing like Duran Duran. Pretty funny.
  18. There should be a date about halfway on the face of the cd. I never buy used cds anymore. I have bought some new re-masters of cds from Amazon before, and they turned out to be the old version of the cd. I sent them back.
  19. You probably have the 1987 version. Although, it sounds like they used the same booklet in the new release.
  20. There are some AUD sources up at bt.etree.org (of course). I think I may grab one of them.
  21. Although I love Vitalogy, I've always thought I could do without: Bugs, Aye Davanita, and Hey Foxymophandlemama, That's Me. I think it's funny that Immortality is stuck in between the last two though. To me, that is one of the best Pearl Jam songs of all time.
  22. I think a reason a lot of those bands changed was due to MTV. I also think that the massive success of Phil's first solo album led to the band making more radio friendly music.
