  1. I listened to Wide Swing Tremolo recently. I think it had been years since I listened to that album.
  2. I suppose the album will always mean something to me as I was there. I was right in front of the dude who yells out "Heavy Metal Drummer." I don't know the last time I played it. I have over 300 Gigabytes of Wilco shows now. So I am more likely to break out one of those if I want to hear some live Wilco.
  3. Is that some sort of vocal effect on the dude's voice? It seems to me they are trying to make his phrasing sound like the sort of deal Layne would use.
  4. I was going to say that people often speak of that song. Henry Rollins Intv: Ryan Adams I probably would still rather listen to Faithless Street.
  5. Maybe that is not the right word to use. I know most people love it. I bought it and listened to it when it came out, buy have not played it in years. I just find it lacking somehow. Maybe sterile is the word I am looking for.
  6. He has been on there off and on before. He also use to advertise the RAA as the "official Ryan Adams message board." That's the album people often say is their favorite. I respect the way it was made, but it is to poppy/laidback/sanitized for me. Sometimes, I think Ethan Johns is the new Jeff Lynne. I hope he does not repeat himself. Of course, I also wish he would bring back the twang, so there you go.
  7. That makes me think of his duet with Axl Rose.
  8. Rod 'Blago' Blagojevich: From Governor to Elvis Impersonator
  9. I've heard they are about to make a deal with Nikki Sixx's Royal Underground clothing line. So, no more Nudie suits.
  10. That was due to the fact that Gram had money to burn, so why not blow it on some fancy clothes.
  11. Maybe these days, but there was a time when they were not. It has to do partly with the refusal of Bill Monroe to not dress like a country bumpkin, which is how country music singers dressed at one point in time. From Monroe's instance on bands members (and himself) wearing their Sunday best, the idea of more fancy and elaborate stage clothing was born (or at least somewhat). There was a time when most all performers wore matching and/or stage clothes of some sort. Of course, this has to do with wanting to be noticed, among other things. That began to go by the wayside in the mid 1960s - at
  12. I must be thinking of some other unreleased album. I have not read the book in a couple of years.
  13. I've never heard it, but I have always heard it was pretty bad. Isn't there a chapter or at least some talk of Toast in the Shakey book?
  14. I dug around at the sites below and did not see any limit listed: Front Gate main page. Wilco Ticketing. Could it be the limit is set when you go through the process to actually buy tickets? Or it could be I just missed it.
  15. You should shout out Last Trip To Tulsa.
