I've heard they are about to make a deal with Nikki Sixx's Royal Underground clothing line. So, no more Nudie suits.

That was due to the fact that Gram had money to burn, so why not blow it on some fancy clothes.

Maybe these days, but there was a time when they were not. It has to do partly with the refusal of Bill Monroe to not dress like a country bumpkin, which is how country music singers dressed at one point in time. From Monroe's instance on bands members (and himself) wearing their Sunday best, the idea of more fancy and elaborate stage clothing was born (or at least somewhat). Of course, he did other films besides the teen comedies. I think most of those were after my HS years. I didn't really see them until sometime in the late 1990s, I think.

Moving Pictures. Moving Pictures made them well know. And due to that, they became included in the cannon of popular heavy bands. Of course, most of those bands were making albums that were more polished, and thus made them more likely to get their videos on MTV. Most people want their heavy rock without the rough edges I do believe. I just saw this on another message board:

Someone must - there is already a thread like this one in the Just A Fan section. Also, there is a thread about American Central Dust in this section of the board. I don't see why both bands can't just be enjoyed without comparing them. I suppose it will always be that way though.

That's funny that you mention that. When the board came back on after being down a while, I discovered some people on my ignore list. I have never put anyone on ignore.
