Looking For A Good Record Player Set Up
Analogman replied to replacements75's topic in Someone Else's Song
I've noticed this topic seems to come up quite often these days. Here is the the latest thread. (Buying a record player what do you suggest) Another one from not too long ago. (Record Player Help About to dive into the world of Vinyls...Need some suggestions) How to clean vinyl records. How to clean phonograph needles. Maybe we could have a pinned thread about record players. -
I rather like the version of Open All Night he does.
-
It worked for me.
-
You don't care for the next two? Straightaways (1997) Wide Swing Tremolo (1998)
-
I didn't notice that until I went to fix a topic title I made the other day (NYC instead of Nyc). I can understand though, ALL CAPS in titles are annoying.

Check out the dates - Brian - July 3, 1969 Jimi - September 18, 1970 Janis - October 4, 1970 Jim - July 3, 1971 Kurt - April 5, 1994

Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, and Kurt Cobain. There are others - less well known.

Sally Sue Brown Myron Grombacher plays drums on that song (he was Pat Benatar's drummer). James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt

This is a good sign:

I am listening to Five Against One and I just noticed some talking before Daughter. I don think I ever noticed it before.

I have yet to get the Stones re-masters, and will have a hard time buying these - due to the fact that I already own them all. You can't really go wrong with HDCD though.

This section of the board deals with B&P and BT: Also, there is a thread full of links that deal with Bit Torrent, Audio file conversion, How-to, Wilco show lists, etc. There is also a thread at the top of the Reflecting Off Of Your CD that offers direction on how to do B&P. It seems to be down at the moment though. I don't think very many people are willing to do B&P anymore. As I have said before, if you can download files by way of Sendspace, Megaupload, etc., then you can figure out how to do Direct Download, and Bit Torrent.

Wilcobase is a good resource for those sorts of questions: Wilcobase-->Songs Search-->Results--Not For The Season Wilcobase-->Songs Search-->Results-->Laminated Cat
-
Sure - I'll read it.
-
I know the first one, but not the second one.
-
I was going by all of those books by way of Amazon - but it would cost me a fortune in shipping and handling. There are some others that were announced, but never got published. In the show, the character of Annie Devlin was played by Sheena Easton. .
-
I'd use the IMDB link. It's bound to be there.
-
Ok - here is one I did not know about until not to long ago: What movie features a scene that was filmed very near where the band Lynyrd Skynyrd is shown in the photograph on their first album cover?

From Billboard.com:

Check The DVD Project Site. Or you could do a search in the Via Chicago Archives. I always forget about this as a resource: Wilco's listing at the IMDB.

Mo played here where I live back on the early 90s (I think) - and in an interview mentioned where she worked. I learned that about Lou Reed from one of the old rock magazines I have at home. The rest I don't think I knew until I saw it online somewhere a few years ago.
-
1. Mo Tucker - Wal Mart employee 2. Sterling Morrison - Tugboat Captain 3. Doug Yule - Cabinetmaker 4. Lou Reed - Typist for father's company
-
True - but some people never look past the TTL section, or only look at the music sections.

You could add the other guy, and two more jobs.
