  1. Thanks for checking on that. Bummer. I like that song and would like to hear how it sounds this year. Guess I'll have to get the audience recording and check that out.
  2. I wouldn't be surprised if there was an error in the Luxembourg setlist as originally posted. I just listened to that section of the Roadcase recording and I can't detect any edit between Radio Cure and Black Moon. Could be that BBN was cut from the setlist, or it could be it was just posted by mistake. Wouldn't be the first time.
  3. I highly recommend going. We've seen Wilco in several European countries and it's always been a blast. I suspect you will have no trouble getting tickets. And post here about your experience!
  4. Official attendance was 12,260 or so, according to the sign at the exit (I forgot that the Bowl did that!)...
  5. It was my birthday (a fairly large number) so When You Wake Up Feeling Old was totally appropriate. Off to Hollywood. See everyone there!
  6. I await Paul's comments, but for now let's just say that this show was Exhibit 437 in the "OMG standing versus sitting" debate. This audience came down pretty decisively on the "siddown shaddup" side. The thoroughly lackluster crowd (with a handful of noteworthy exceptions, including one guy in the first row wearing a suit who danced exuberantly at every opportunity) seemed like they might have confused Wilco for George Thorogood, who had played the same venue the night before. The band soldiered on in the face of massive indifference, with Jeff alternating between grumpy and bemused. The
  7. What an amazing venue! A surprisingly loose performance with a great setlist. The other audible in the encore was the substitution of Far Far Away for At Least That's What You Said, which was on the original setlist as the first song in the encore. There's a hard-and-fast curfew of 10:30 at the Britt, and a security guard told me that the fine for going overtime is $5,000. So it's understandable that the encore got trimmed.

  9. Pretty much: http://viachicago.org/topic/47971-wilco-the-forgotten-album/
  10. I didn't keep a setlist, but they opened with Poor Places / Art of Almost / I Might, followed by Company in My Back. Sunken Treasure was in there, acoustic Spiders, Shouldn't Be Ashamed, Hummingbird. HandShake Drugs into One Wing (yay, Wilco the Album). Set ended with A Shot in the Arm. Two encores: Via Chicago, ITMWLY, Walken, and ending with Jesus Etc, of all things. No singalong. Final encore was Can't Stand It, Monday, Outtasite (Outta Mind). Amazing venue, spectacular sound, perfect weather for an indoor-outdoor venue. Crowd took a while to warm up, but by midshow (ie, Impossible G
  11. Although there are still tickets available for this show, the good sections sold out long ago. You'll be pretty far back if you buy from the Bowl. Their website has an excellent graphic display that shows you exactly which sections have seats available. I have seen several people selling extras in the Got Extras board here, which is where I would start. I also posted a seat map here.
  12. Just announced. Details here: http://www.vail.com/events/snowdaze.aspx#schedule#Top
  13. Slowly easing their way back into the setlists...
  14. There's a great tradition of tailgating at the Opera, so we might be doing that. If you have all day free on Tuesday, think about lunch at The Shed (ask your friends - they'll know it!).
  15. gogo, when do you get here? We're local and would be happy to host a meetup. Anyone else want to come?
  16. We were in the pit, front row center for the Albuquerque show. The venue is not my favorite, but the sound was stellar and it's hard to argue with that setlist. As they were wrapping up the fourth song I looked at my watch and saw that they had been playing for 45 minutes. Everyone in the band seemed to be having fun.
  17. This is interesting. The Wilco Shows listing for the Hollywood Bowl (September 30) was updated very recently to add the detail that Joanna Newsom is opening. If you don't know Joanna Newsom (I didn't) she's a harpist. This article makes for an interesting read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joanna_Newsom There's a Jim O'Rourke connection too, as he has produced/mixed two of her albums: http://www.hollywoodbowl.com/philpedia/joanna-newsom-0 It will certainly set a tone...
  18. Well, they played Muzzle of Bees on the first night at Prospect park (Roadcase 003) and Spiders on night 2 (Roadcase 004). So...
  19. Roadcase shows 3, 4, and 5 are the three recent New York shows: two from Brooklyn Prospect Park and the third from Terminal 5. Yesterday Mikael Jorgenson tweeted that "many more will be added." @mikaeljorgensen: Did you know that you can buy HQ recordings of @Wilco shows? It's true! Many more will be added: http://wilco.kungfustore.com/categories/491-roadcase
  20. The compressed FM broadcast and webcast has terrible dynamic range, as well as a DJ who talked over the intro to a couple of songs. I'm happy to have a full fidelity recording.
  21. Yes, "Recorder assigns all ... copyright to Company." I'm trying to understand why a professional photographer would even bother attending this festival.
  22. Whoa. That is just so wrong. I'm a creatve professional myself (writer/reporter). I'm trying to imagine a scenario in which they did the same thing with my notes or writing. Jeebus.
