The First Great Song You Heard in Concert
roadhse ma replied to roadhse ma's topic in Someone Else's Song
Im Waiting on a First Concert from uhmmm Anne Murray .. Bruce Springsteen opened for her or The Monkees Jimi Hendrix once opened for him.. Or YES ....Pousette Dart Band opened for them once* ..* odd pairing I went Merry Christmas Supporters of Live Music (past and present shows) and a healthy rockin New Year! -
There's a online story covered by Rolling Stone. 19 years apart now on the same stage hope they buried the hatchet deep in the ground.

YES ould be great and bodes well for our favorite here as they were an original, forget about stretching boundaries YES redefined boundaries. Here's hoping it happens ... While nothing is automatic both Deep Purple and Cheap Trick Sold a Ton ... Btw does Peter Wolfe have to die before J. Geils gets in ?

Hey folks I will color the water a bit and let you know first off as a fan of Eric Church and Jeff Tweedy I'm not the least offended by the pokes at Church, everyone's entitled to their opinion. My .02 is Church is regarded non card carrying member of " Bro Country " He is often thought of more as a young Merle Haggard or dare I say Willie. His characters have some depth and so do his recent lyrics notably his last two albums. I personally think he tipped the cap to another Outsider Jeff Tweedy because he identifies with the risk taking Jeff has done in the past with label. One of the characte -

Good one I've seen them open with that.I'm hoping they take another quick run through their strong US markets after South America Where did you see them ? -
The only time I got to see GD, Bruce Hornsby was on the tour. It was mentioned by a GD member at the time ( I can't recall whom) that he's making us rehearse for shows man that's something we ha e not done.I watched Bruce look up often as if to see what the heck was coming or if he should stretch w/ a solo on the FTW. Having said that too bad he's not out with this bunch because Otel & Mayer are better on that stage than I would have imagined. Well at least in Worcester they were imho. Happy Thanksgiving folks..

Agreed plots, and subplots sometimes intertwining yet it all comes together. In addition the richness of the character portrayals and the real depth of the seemingly one dimensional actor (Ted Dansons son in law) is great.Lastly the sarcasism of both Danson and not so low key bad boy from Kansas is great too!

Off to se the local band from Liverpool The Wombats at House of Blues /Happily on a nice roll of varied music.
-
MMJ at The Orpheum solid show, well paced a bit over the top w/ blinking lights for my taste. But overall a very enjoyable evening.
-
Actually it was a terrific acoustic set that included their song " Don't Tear us Apart" Dedicated to those who died due to the recent senseless violence abroad. It was a very good evening from our local band.
-
Up next Dropkick Murphys at their Boston owned bar Friday Followed by MMJ Saturday night.

My Wife & I really enjoyed that show when it hit Boston this past summer. Especially liked Brian W. " this is the best song I ever wrote" prior to God Only Knows" also memorable was Blondie who recorded and made a 70s hit entitled Sail on Sailor. Hope you folks had fun.

One week after Worcester my thoughts are still that it has been the best incarnation of the best Dead cover band yet. Good points made above, specific to Bob Weir I have seen both GD and Ratdog and imho this was one of his better performances I have seen., don't know what it's attributable to but glad he's motivated. Wished they would play the Garden as its next to a T stop less accidents. On the way to Worcester Pike had no less than 4 accidents. Fools that drive buzzed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
