Though I am enjoying this, and it's interesting to see how America was affected state side, I was thinking last night they could have covered that in one episode or something, or maybe a companion documentary or something. I se know it's meant to be the american experience of the war, I guess I was expecting it to be a more overall look at the whole war, including more about all the countries experiences, and more inside the Axis. Also, it kind of blew right thru the battle for North Africa. Anyway, I'll keep watching but it doens't seemed to be grabbng me as did the Civil War and Baseba

I prefer George and John's Solo records above the Beatles records the last couple years ,mostly George, but I'm sure I'll feel different again, that's what's great about The Beatles, Dylan, Bowie, Waits, etc. being a fan is being a fan for life, and some songs, eras you'll always hold in high requard, some will fall in and out of favor, but sure enough you return to them at a different stages and hear it with new ears, at least thats my experience.

I picked up this one for my gal after hearing Jenny Lewis talking about in an interview, and we both love it. It's all Oldies covers and Patty Labelle and her sisters sing back up, some powerful singing. One of our favorite, it's saturday and time for a drink records. Saw the show last night, he's super cool, really funny, and entertaining, it was a great time. I believe he's doing a free show in NYC at the World Trade Center site tonight. Ron Sexsmith was pretty great too, not quite the classy show man that Nick Lowe is, reminded me of Jackson Browne in a good way.
