  1. I experienced one of those once, it was pretty neat.
  2. The latter two have come to Grinnell and both were solid shows. Yo La Tengo came here the year before I got here But we've been trying to get them back again. Wilco came in '99.
  3. I'd say they're reasonably musically close, but not enough to warrant plagiarism charges.
  4. What does Andrew Bird think I'm made of, money? This better be as good as its going to cost me!
  5. Electronic music rules. Modular synthesizers are the best to play around on, but not very practical at all in terms of acquiring and playing gigs. Moogs are definitely the gold standard for electronic sound variety, but on the pricey side. Go play around with some stuff and see what you like. Always pick user control over millions of premade sound-effects, that's the best advice. Computers can do good things, but a lot of the best music from electronics comes from knob twiddling experiments/accidents.
  6. $26 is a little pricey, but well worth it. I'm definitely going for this once I get some monies back in the bank.
  7. Yep. Germans are a little obsessed with cowboy culture and the American west. Well, glad I'll have no trouble getting tickets, Calexico is one of the best bands I've seen live.
  8. Album arrived today, I'm totally stoked. I think I'll probably be at the Fine Line show in Minneapolis (assuming I can get tickets on Friday). Teh kick ass
  9. Yikes, hope those in Toronto are safe.
  10. I can tell you that XTC would probably have higher rankings if she was contributing.

Steve Reich-Music for 18 Musicians 5. Radiohead-OK Computer 6. Califone-Quicksand/Cradlesnakes 7. XTC-Skylarking 8. The Beatles-Revolver 9. Brian Eno-Another Green World 10. David Bowie-Heroes 11. REM-Murmur 12. David Bowie-Low 13. Yo La Tengo-I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One 14. Sonic Youth-Daydream Nation 15. Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention-We
  12. I'm going to make it a point to pick up any of the top 100 I don't own already.
  13. True, especially if the country with the highest medal count took home a shit-ton of bacon.
