Some pretty outstanding guitar playing right here if you ask me. I was happy to be in the house.

I saw the Orpheum show in May. I didn't think they were subdued at all. But I really like the songs from Man in Motion, and there were some great covers in there too. I have a pretty good recording of the Orpheum show, I'd be happy to send to you if you'd like.

I agree in part. I love Derek and Warren, and love hearing them play in their own thing. But there is something about the full impact of the ABB; whether its Oteil, the percussion (I think Marc is an unsung hero of that band), the Hammond B-3, Gregg's singing (when he remembers the words), the whole package together is something when they're on. Plus, getting to see Derek and Warren together, trading licks in a guitar war on Woman Across the River or wrapping those harmonized lead lines around each other, is something to behold, a treat you don't get seeing their individual bands. Ditto that. I'm astounded by those comments actually. But, everyone's got a different set of ears. Just look at the RS Top 100 Guitarists. No Warren, and no Trey.

Did you know that there was a defect with the shirt and they replaced them for free if you sent it back?

Except I always felt with Garcia it was self-induced by his addiction. I believe Gregg is living a sober life now, but he's failing for other reasons. There were times he seemed truly befuddled up there over the 3 shows I went to.

It was at that point my buddy texted me: "if he was a horse, they would just shoot him".

A "tepid" reaction to TWL online? Have I been hallucinating these past several months? -
Where does that come from? Great.

Blue Sky was done because they did the entire Eat A Peach album on Wednesday. Which followed the entire Live At Fillmore East on Tuesday. I think it was only the 2nd or 3rd time they've done Blue Sky since they kicked Dickey's ass out of the band. Of course Warren has done it with Phil and Furthur. Warren should have sang it Wednesday.

I'm "gmfeld" over there, so you would have seen my commentary. I didn't think the band was off, but Gregg is really struggling and is just not performance worthy at this point. Too many blown lyrics, doesn't know when to come in with the vocals, can't keep up with the tempo when he does remember the lyrics. Not every song, but too many, and it's way too noticeable.

I'll put links to some short videos from last night in the ABB thread.

Best weekend of my summer, the last 2 summers. No doubt.

Very mixed reviews of Gregg's performance this week. There's a significant and noticeable degradation in his performance ability. Too many instances of flubbing the lyrics, coming in at the wrong time, singing behind the tempo. It's startling, and can't be ignored (there are any number of people on the Allmans forum who would). Below is a link to the topic for last night's show, I'm "gmfeld". Show and Gregg started off great, but Gregg reverted to Tuesday and Wednesday form as teh show went along, review comments are at the end of the thread: http://www.allmanbrothersband.com/modules.php

I just finished 3 Allman Brothers shows here in Boston this week. I can't even express how happy it makes me to know that playing Duane's guitar is as meaningful to Nels as it would be to me

Keith started touring with the band in '71. He was in the band by the December '71 shows. Check out the fm broadcast tape of the Fox Theatre, St. Louis show. A rockin affair. Run Run Rudolph.

Hundred Year Hall is off the hook fantastic.

I would care only if I knew/believed that Wilco cared. Otherwise, the Grammys have so little to do with my musical life that I pay them no attention for years. If Wilco was happy for it, I would be happy for them. TWL is certainly worthy of a nomination, and a win.

Speaking of proselytizing, one of my proudest moments, posted in my buddy bobhund's upload of the Wang show: http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=548496 thanks to gmfeld for the heads up on the ticket release, the setlist, the poster image & the proselytizing. bobhund and I have been going Dead, Dead related, Allmans, Mule, Lobos etc. shows (and tape trades) since we met on a GD taper's bulletin board in 1991. Over the last few years I had been laying the Wilco proselytizing on him pretty hot and heavy. I think I finally got him with the Wang show (but I think it was probably the com

Assuming that should read Day in the Life? But if not, I'm stumped.
