  1. Add BBN, In a Future Age, IATTBYH, Handshake, War on War, Born Alone, Germany, to the setlist
  2. Art of Almost to open the tour! Love it. That song has opener written all over it.
  3. Show starts at 8:00, with Nick Lowe opening. Show ends at 11:00. Doesn't leave enough time for Wilco. A less than 2 hour set. Damn.
  4. Having these lines without reference to the specific song is like a treasure hunt.
  5. I don't mind the tweeters. They don't interfere with my space. What I do mind is the cell phone picture/video takers. This summer at MMJ, I stood behind a guy who held his phone up in the air for good portions of the show taking video. I found myself watching the band through the 4 inches of his screen. Ugh! Now cut that out. If someone wants to tweet the setlist in real time, I have no problem with that. I see that others here don't get it, but I've often followed a live action setlist for shows I'm not at. My wife doesn't get it either, but I think its kind of fun.
  6. Jacob Wirth is a good choice. Close by, huge beer menu, good food, etc. Here's a question: with the will call only ticket policy for everyone, how bad of a clusterf*&$ do you think it will be getting into the Wang? I'm expecting it to be fairly brutal. I don't care if I'm in my seat for Nick Lowe though.
  7. Many many years of seeing live music, and I can't remember the last time I was this excited for a show! Saturday night my wife and I came home from seeing Lewis Black listening to the new album in the car, and found ourselves dancing in the kitchen at midnight to Whole Love being so psyched for next Tuesday.
  8. That line gets to me too, every time. About 20 years ago my brother suddenly died. I was the one who had to tell my Mom and Dad. That line, and the whole mood of this song, definitely tugs at the heartstrings.
  9. Did someone post a tab to this? I thought I saw a mention of a tab for this song, but now I can't find it.
  10. Love Sky Blue Sky. And I've been listening to Wilco since Being There was issued.
  11. Me too. Every time I hear it. And I listen to it several times a day.
  12. Really? Nels gets a bad rap? I just can't imagine, the man is a guitar god of the highest order.
  13. Nice. One of my favorite ways to spend time between music at Solid Sound was to peruse the Wilco poster collection they installed at Mass Moca. Which I think is now a permanent installation.
  14. I see she wrote an episode of Homicide: Life on the Streets. My favorite show of all time. That must be why Tweedy put her name in the song title.
  15. Is this the Jane Smiley? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Smiley
  16. Several days later, and I still can't get enough of this song. Last night I made my wife sit down, put away her iPhone and had her listen through the stereo while she read the lyrics someone posted here. This morning on the train I ran into a friend and took his iPod out of his hands and gave him mine and made him listen to this on our way into work. Of course, both were blown away by the tune. One Sunday Morning isn't just a "Wilco classic", it's an "all-time classic."
  17. I'm hoping so. I'm flying a signed print (by the artist, not the band) of the Boston Orpheum "Evening With" show in my family room. Beautiful butterfly. One of the best shows of my life. Hoping to add another. And a shoutout to our VC friend, Tinnitus Photography, I'm looking at a nice montage of Solid Sound 2010 photos in my office, matted and framed around the program. He's got great photos if you're in the need.
  18. I would add Los Lobos to that list. They're last release being one of their best. 30+ years together, a band that's never gotten the recognition which I believe they so deserve.
  19. The question posed is "should we expect greatness at this point?". With this band and this lineup, I absolutely do. And they have consistently delivered for me, on recordings and live. Ok, I wouldn't say WTA is "great", but I like most of the tunes on there, a lot. and SBS is definitely a great album in my book. I'm amazed at how frequently it gets dissed around here. I am ready to bestow the "greatness" label to The Whole Love. Absolutely, and unequivocally. Other bands at the 16 year mark? That would put the Dead at 1983. The only studio release they put out after that year that
  20. Absolutely. I can't stop listening to this song. Under headphones, sends chills down my spine.
