  1. So glad to hear that. My closest lifelong friends were seeing their first Wilco show. People I started going to shows with in 1973. Can't wait for them to wake up and check in with the east coast.
  2. I've never been (this will be its 3rd year), but have heard good things. It's right on the beach, how bad could that be?!
  3. Be happy to let you know. I'm interested to see how this show is configured: I think it's a set for Sticky Fingers, then another set of KDTU.
  4. In the first of what I've seen for a U.S. Wilco spring/summer date, it's been announced that Wilco will be at Hangout Music Festival. The dates are May 18-20, though don't know what day Wilco is booked for. Never been, but always looks like a nice festival right on the beach. http://lineup.hangoutmusicfest.com/
  5. Karl Denson's Tiny Universe and Anders Osborne doing Sticky Fingers, at Royale Boston.
  6. Hmmmm, well it's on here in the Boston area. And I'm digging it.
  7. Agreed. TWL gets like a 9.8 in my book. And I would give SBS a higher mark.
  8. Ross, I sent you a message when you first posted this topic. Check your inbox.
  9. I am someone who is active on FB, but don't feel the need to create a Wilco community there. Via Chicago is such a vibrant community for Wilco fans, I enjoy checking in here every day. Kinda reminds me of my days with the GD community on the WELL. I won't bash FB, but I would hate to see the VC energy get dissipated in any way.
  10. Thanks! There's something so comforting about the fuzz and rumble of Neil and Crazy Horse.
  11. That is just about the coolest thing I've ever seen.
  12. Very interesting to say the least. After he turned down the band's invite to play with them during the 40th anniversary beacon run in '09 I thought for sure I'd never see them on stage together again.
  13. Didn't like the song too much on the album. But I think it comes alive and is a killer tune in the live setting. Not to say I want to hear it at every show, but still think it's a balls to the walls rocker live.
  14. I Might number 44 on the singles chart. http://www.villagevoice.com/pazznjop/singles/2011/
  15. Here's the link http://www.villagevoice.com/pazznjop/albums/2011/
  16. TWL comes in at number 22.
  17. I was just about to also quote that answer. Love that response. Capitol City may not be my favorite on TWL, but it's a fun little ditty.
  18. Z Man has his Cracker recording up: http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=551817
  19. Where are you? I'm an attorney in MA, this is not my area of practice, but I know some attorneys here who do this kind of work.
  20. That Fenway show was not a very good one IMHO. First show back, crappy venue for music, etc. They crushed it the next week at Great Woods.
  21. My first show of 2012 was Camper Van and Cracker at The Middle East in Cambridge last night. They're making this an annual event over MLK weekend, but this was the first time I went. Camper Van has some great tunes, but still a little too much of a novelty act for me. It had been too long since I'd seen Cracker, and they did not disappoint. Love Johnny Hickman's guitar playing. From reading earlier posts here, this won't be a big endorsement for Tinnitus Photography, but Hickman's playing reminds me of Social D/Mike Ness. Another favorite of mine.
  22. I agree, excellent features writing in RS, national affairs desk, Taibbi, tv and sports pieces. At this point, I'm probably 75/25% in terms of reading the features/political coverage vs. music coverage.
  23. Disappointed about 2012, but WIlco took away alot of the pain by announcing the 2013 dates, so thank you Wilco for that! And, a drive to the Berkshires for a Wilco show in 2012 doesn't sound too bad to me either. Ready to go.
  24. Not in favor of a YHF box or any other sort of retrospective repackaging of previously released material, not right now. Something about having the band members spending time looking backwards when they're currently moving forward and putting out some of the best original works of their career strikes me as just plain wrong. But would love to see a live cd/dvd of current shows.
