  1. Very well done Crow. I could not add to or disagree with any of that. Well, maybe add one comment re: the production values of The Whole Love, that the sound of John' bass in the mix is fabulous (as is the playing of course).
  2. Here, this will get you to the same place: Cant' decide whether its really fun and cute, or just cheesy. I'm a softie, so I'll tend to think its all in fun, but am expecting some folks to take out their arrows.
  3. I agree, that's a very well put together piece, and having had access to the rehearsal sessions in the Loft certainly didn't hurt.
  4. Totally different experience with that song inside the Wang on Tuesday. We were Row A and you could hear a pin drop. Confirmed by bobhund's recording from Row L. I spoke to him specifically about how great and quiet the audience was during that song, his recording shows it. Agreed that can't wait to hear Tweedy do it solo acoustic. Wilco played Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head over the sound system before they came out for the Friday night set at Solid Sound this year.
  5. Well, that bums me out over my morning coffee in Boston. I loved the Wang show, but I guess it goes back to my decades following the Dead, always hate to miss the better show the next night. Glad it didn't rain on all the NYC'ers. I got 4 Wilco shows in this year, from New Orleans to Solid Sound to Boston. I can't complain.
  6. I was wondering about the relationship between "Fighting Tinnitus" and "Tinnitus Photography", thanks for clarifying. The vibe on the floor was great. Although my wife and I were in Row A and mostly looking stage forward, the floor was definitely up on its feet and dancing the entire night as far as I could tell. I had a friend in the balcony who was bummed that everyone was sitting and not dancing, until the rockin encore set.
  7. I'm happy to say that I am the "gmfeld" bobhund the taper refers to in his taping notes for last night's show. He's my buddy, wasn't yrt much of a Wilco fan, and I suggested, cajoled, encouraged, and eventually threatened him to get a ticket and get himself and his rig to see Wilco. Glad to read that you like the recording. I will pass that along to Bob. And I too remember the days of mailing Dead tapes in yellow padded envelopes, in trees and twigs created on the WELL. Bobhund will also recall those days.
  8. Don't know if I caused any confusion. I was referring to Solid Sound night 2 as being up on bt.etree in response for a request to hear a live prrformance of one of the new songs. It definitely is there. It's a good recording. I have night 1 from some source, not as good with the rain and wind.
  9. up on the bt.etree site. If you don't do that, feel free to send me a message with your mailing address and I'll burn and send.
  10. What you can do about it is skip the opening act and do "An Evening With"! Which is exactly what Jeff said would never happen again. Too bad. I'll never forget that night in the Orpheum and everyone of those 39 songs, with the living room set change in the middle. Would love to see them go The Evening With route and break the night into 2 sets if they need a break. Seems to have worked for years for lots of touring bands. Anyhow, none of this is to be taken by way of complaint about Wilco or last night. Just about the Puritanical 11:00 curfew.
  11. One Sunday Morning, not just the best song on TWL, maybe the best song ever! Now if that wasn't on the album, very tough call for me. Alternate between Art of Almost, Dawned on Me, Whole Love, Born Alone...cant' decide. But, One Sunday Morning is on the album, so that's my vote.
  12. I'm expecting that a very good sounding source of last night's Boston show will be up on bt any time now. Today. Recorded in 24 bit from Row L, he's downsampling it now. I've heard a piece of it. It will do. I haven't seen any of the other shows posted anywhere.
  13. There's an excellent recording of the Saturday night Solid Sound circulating, you can hear Standing O live there. I can hook you up with the track, or the entire show. Sounds great live to my ears.
  14. Boston Globe review: Wilco hits its mark for ramshackle perfection It was, as the saying goes, like riding a bike. And in this case, a bicycle built for six. Last year, after roughly 15 years of steady touring amid recording seven albums, Wilco - the Chicago alt-country band-turned-sound collage adventurers - decided to take a rare break from the road before hitting the studio to make its new album, “The Whole Love,’’ (which comes out next week on the group’s own in-house label, dBpm Records). But, as Wilco demonstrated before a sold-out house at the Wang Theatre last night, you don’t u
  15. I won't be in Central Park, but I stood in the pouring rain at Solid Sound for a great show, so it can be done!
  16. Great photo. Like I wrote, Jeff was smiling throughout. This captures it.
  17. That was my buddy's rig in Row L. He says the recording sounds great. Will post link here when he gets it tracked.
  18. Some random morning after follow up as the Starbucks courses its way through my veins: Surprised they weren't using any stage backdrop like the one they've had out so far-same as Friday night at Solid Sound. I thought the stage was missing something without it, though Tinnitus Photog. says the lights looked great from first row balcony. I was Row A (yes!) on the floor, behind the pit, and was missing the backdrop. How could I forget The Late Greats in my original post, duh! Some Tweedy banter: -"Last time we were in Boston we did 39 songs. That ain't happening again. Ever. You don'
  19. Were you shooting last night? I may need to add to my collection of Tinnitus Photography photos!
  20. Wilco rocked the Wang. Stunning sound in a beautiful venue. I can't even begin to gather brain cells from the walls of the theatre to post a correct setlist, but it started with Art of Almost, I Might, Black Moon. Then maybe IATTBYH, One Wing, BBN. Also did Whole Love , Born Alone, Dawned on Me, in no particular order. One Sunday Morning was scintillating, you could hear a pin drop. ALTWYS was in there. Shouldn't Be Ashamed, Impossible Germany, ITMWLY, Shot in the Arm. Totally rocked out the encore with Monday, Outtamind. I'm forgetting a lot. I'm not forgetting that Tweedy was smili
