  1. I was in the Worcester Centrum with my family for the Runaway Jam show. Longest single song performance in Phish history. At least it was. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Those are 2 fantastic in depth pieces in CoS. OK, who's the VC'er from Des Moines? Give yourself up
  3. I guess nobody here went to Lockn'. I went the last 2 years and had an absolute blast both times. Hope to watch the Phish show tonight. Free webcasts.
  4. I'm a big fan of The Whole Love. But I digress.
  5. I hear you Boss, I miss them as well. I was with them pretty much from the get go, still remember hearing Radio Free Europe on the BC college station, and going over to the Harvard Coop in downtown Boston to buy Murmur when it was released. Don't listen to them often these days but when I do my head always explodes with how much I love their music. Don't know if I will get this, but likely I will, just don't know which offering. 6. The reason being they are freaking great rocked out rock n roll songs!
  7. I don't know if this circulated here, but here's the remastered version of A Hard Day's Night. Sounds great. http://www.npr.org/sections/allsongs/2016/08/25/491201322/all-songs-1-the-beatles-are-live-and-sounding-better-than-ever?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=nprmusic&utm_term=music&utm_content=20160825
  8. There are images of reviews from Mojo and Uncut posted in the FB group which are not that easy to read. I can't find the reviews on either magazine's website. Both reviews are great and have me more excited than I already was.
  9. ^ a function of being old enough, right place right time, and with friends who were and still are excellent musical references!
  10. OK, there's been zillions of shows over the last 40+ years, I can spend the rest of time thinking about the next 5, but here goes off the top of my head: R.E.M., Harvard gym, with Husker Du opening. Except at that point we didn't know Husker Du and spent their set outside adjusting our attitude. Ouch. New Order, Boston Opera House. They came out and played about a 50 minute set without an encore that was probably the most intense 50 minutes of music I've ever seen, and when they didn't come out for an encore and the crew started breaking down the stage a full blown riot broke out. 11. I've always thought of my top 5, so that's easy: Grateful Dead, Roosevelt Stadium, 8-6-74 Allman Brothers w/Clapton, Beacon, 3-19-09 An Evening with Wilco, Orpheum Theater, March 2010 (which included the initial announcement of Solid Sound) Grateful Dead, 9-20-90, MSG (second set was single best Grateful Dead set performance I ever saw) The Clash, Orpheum Theater, London Calling tour (1980?) I'll have to spend some time for the next 5
  12. Got the family out in Boulder visiting my son. Impromptu decision to go to Folks Festival in Lyons CO today. The Decemberists headlining. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Sorry I missed it, was on my calendar but my wife had other plans in mind. I would have kept you feeling like a spring chicken. BTW, who's playing guitar? Is Billy back, or still on medical leave? I've lost track.
  14. YLT has already appeared at SS. Don't know if that "disqualifies" them from appearing again, but just sayin.
  15. Fantastic! I would love to see that.
  16. August 9, 1995. I remember exactly where I was (at my desk at work) and how I learned the news (phone call from a friend). I didn't believe it, as my GD friends had been sardonically joking about Jerry dying since seeing the Dead for the Albany run in the spring. Garcia looked and for the most part sounded terrible. During Black Peter my buddy and I just looked at each other, saying this day is coming soon. So it had been a running joke, and when I got the call I thought it was another prank call. After all, we were in the midst of receiving our mail order tickets for the fall Boston Garden ru
  17. I don't know how to do that, would love to get access to the MP3 of the show.
  18. Nice piece on Nels and Lovers in today's WSJ. I don't subscribe, picked up the paper in a hotel, so I can't post a link. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. I have a Rega P3, and also have to move the belt to switch speeds. Which likely explains why I've never played or purchased a 45 rpm vinyl since I got it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Hanging on vacation with the kids and their friends, my 26 year old and his buddies are all about this band. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
