  1. Following up on my previous post, the thing with Lockn' is the 2 stages, Oak and Ridge, are side by side. So while one band is playing the next band is getting setup on the other stage. Because of the Thursday rainout, Billy and the Kids got moved to Saturday, with Weir, in the slot just before Phil. So while Billy, Weir and Mickey were in stage making GD music together on the Oak stage, Phil was on the Ridge stage in the dark getting set for his show. He was out there for pretty much the entire Billy show, fiddling with his rig and getting ready. The maybe 50 feet that separated them in
  2. Came back from Lockn', where I heard lots of GD music and saw all 4 of them in different configurations. The music was all great. If forced to say which if the GD related sets i liked best, guess would go with the Saturday Phil show, with Warren and Carlos. Perhaps the biggest surprise was how great the Billy and the Kids set with Weir turned out to be. Surprise because Weir makes me nervous that he's going to completely blow it anytime he steps on stage. But this set, with Tom Hamilton on lead guitar and Mickey sitting un for the last part, was excellent. I'll have to look at the setlis
  3. Been listening to this album for almost 20 years now, and it still blows me away each time. A landmark recording for me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Strike Thursday off the list, they just cancelled the entire day due to severe storm that blew through today. Oh well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. My next 4 days: http://www.locknfestival.com/lineup/schedule-2015.html
  6. Oh, I get it now. One's the acoustic show at the Independent, the Seattle show is a full fledged electric Wilco show. Guess I'll have to buy them both. They are some smart marketers!
  7. I'll get one of those, now to figure out which one.
  8. I agree. Latest example: the audio quality of listening to Star Wars when the CD came out was about a million times better than listening to the free mp3 download. It was headspinning when I first put the disc on.
  9. Love this topic, so interesting to me to see how music fans consume their music. A discussion I frequently have with friends who have switched over to Sonos or other streaming services as their in-home primary means of listening. I am not a fan. Commuting on train-my 180 gig iPod. I don't think I've ever put it on shuffle. 90% of the time I'm listening to live shows, Wilco, GD, Phish, etc. I much prefer live music. For non-live studio releases, I listen to complete albums. I still believe in the form of the complete album. I have maybe 2 or 3 playlists I've made that I'll occasionall
  10. Warren does something similar, in Jamaica I think. Spending a few days with a favorite band on a beautiful beach always sounds great to me, though I've never done it.
  11. I guess there was no information about more tour dates? Other than I saw Jeff promise to return to Brazil.
  12. I can see wilcojeff's answers, complete disconnected from the questions. Guess I don't get how to use reddit.
  13. Is this the kind of thing that will be available to read later if I can't be at my computer at the appointed time? My only question would be whether there's plans for any Northeast (Boston) shows this year. Actually, it would be less question and more begging. I guess I would also ask what the legal rights issue is with W(TA), though I doubt they would answer.
  14. That has got to be one of the coolest, most "insider" tee shirts I've ever seen! Love it. Didn't they play Solid Sound? Or is my mind totally melting in the summer heat?
  15. Dumpstaphunk? I know Joe Russo does that with his Bustle in Your Hedgerow band with Benevento, et al. They did a late night at Lockn' last year, was awesome. We left at close to 3:00 a.m. and there were still 10,000 kids blazing to them.
  16. Perhaps Dumpstaphunk on Thursday. Returning to Lockn' next week. http://www.locknfestival.com/lineup/schedule-2015.html Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Giving it the entire Dick's run treatment I see. Should be a blast. This was my summer without Phish as they bypassed Boston and New England. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. As for the packaging, love the photo of the band in the Loft.
  19. Listening now live on JamOn. Bathtub Gin Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. I don't know about the proposition that few Deadheads are aware those are covers. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Got my Star Wars cd in the mail yesterday. Blown away by how great the actual disc sounds on a very nice cd player compared to the mp3 download I've been listening to through the same speakers. And great to have the actual disc and sleeve with an excellent photo of the entire band in the Loft, and all the lyrics and credits. I may be old school, i like my music on physical media-vinyl or cd.
