  1. I made it only to the second show but bought all 3 Roadcases. I feel the same, like listening to one long show, I can drop in at any point. Will be listening to these for a while. Until the Winterludes become available!

  3. Must have been great if you went back. Is there an opening band? What time do Lucero come on? Let me know if you go Sunday too, I'll be there. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. I'm going Sunday. Not familiar with Lucero, but a friend suggested it so I'm in. Couldn't believe they're doing a 3 night run, I never really heard of them. Been listening on Spotify, remind me of the Truckers. Should be fun. You going all 3?
  5. TDK? What, you weren't using Maxell XL-II's? I had lots of cassettes, don't know how many but a lot, all organized chronologically of course, and most of which had custom made covers that I either made or got on the WELL or other boards and printed. Some really nice artwork. Alas, I don't have my cassette machines hooked up (I had 2 Nak's), and I'm pretty sure I ditched most of the tapes. It hurt me to do that. But on the bright side, I have a new turntable going where one of the cassette decks would be. I'm pretty sure I have this Broome County Arena show somewhere on disc, either aud
  6. Derek addresses the Dickey Betts situation. If you believe Derek, and I do, then Betts' manager appears to be full of crap. http://www.jambase.com/Articles/123244/Derek-Trucks-Talks-Final-Allman-Brothers-Show-and-Dickey-Betts Sent from my Windows Phone using Tapatalk

  8. Heads up, I was clicking on the wrong entry in "my downloads" menu. For some reason, they now have 3 entries for each Roadcase ordered, all with download arrows, I was clicking on the first one, you have to scroll down to find the mp3 or flac download (which will show 10 downloads available). I don't remember this being the case with all my previous Roadcase purchases, so I found it confusing, but Jeena of Kung Fu helped me through it.
  9. I've had that tape for years. Funny you mention the second set, this is one of my favorite first sets of all time (along with Buffalo 5-9-77). The Half Step opener is insane, the Music Never Stopped closer freakin rocks, and everything in between is totally top notch! Anyone who hasn't heard this, I recommend it highly.
  10. Anyone else have a problem with the Port Chester downloads. I clicked on the download link for the first night and all that happened was a new tab opened with the cover art work. No files downloaded and now I have zero downloads left for this show. Email sent to Kung Fu.
  11. I would have a hard time choosing between Low Key and Nobody Dies. Sent from my Windows Phone using Tapatalk
  12. In today's WSJ: "I began to look forward to the Allmans’ Beacon runs, and after each concert would tell friends about what I’d heard. When they would ask what had been the best song that night, I’d reply that that was like asking about the best frame around a picture in an art gallery. No matter how well crafted and feverishly sung by Messrs. Allman or Haynes, the songs served to introduce dazzling instrumental improvisations, with melodic solos building at breakneck speed that were supported by exemplary communication among Mr. Burbridge and the percussionists. Though I had savored Weather R
  13. I pre-ordered all 3 of the Cap Theatre run. Plenty of set list variety right there
  14. Yes to the Q, though I'm compelled to say that the Lockn' version of Russo, Warren, Scofield and Modeski was right there with the Q in my book. Well I never carped on them as a "cover" band. I thought they were great. I don't listen to the recordings much if at all, if I'm going to listen to GD tunes I'll put on the GD, but I always loved seeing Furthur and thought they did a great job with the songbook, even with my frustrations with Weir.
  15. Phish, Allmans, Mule, Dead/Phil, etc., all make every show available for download. I assume the economics work for them else they wouldn't do it. Granted, they all have larger audiences than Wilco. As much as I love the Wilco studio releases, I'm a live music fan and 90% of what I listen to is live recordings, so I'd love to see them open the vault for downloads.
  16. Thanks Dan Lynch! From this longtime friend of Mr. Salat (we've been to some shows together many many years ago).
  17. Too bad about this news, saw some fantastic Furthur shows. I always liked JK's guitar playing and singing, never got why some folks were down on him. But all in all, over all the years,Phil and Friends was always the best take on the songbook I thought. As witnessed by this past weekend's shows. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. You did the 5 nights! Awesome, so jealous. I couch toured the webcast last night. Thought it was great, the band and Nels' participation and contributions. I was expecting him to only sit in for a segment, so was surprised to see him from the beginning. Nels played a couple times with the Allmans at the Beacon and I thought it was like fitting a square peg in a round hole. With Phil's band he fit right in, in a Nels kind of way. He particularly smoked Franklin's! I don't know who that Lebo guy is, but he's a great player. Gets that acoustic sounding like an electric for sure. And Joe
  19. I bought the regular flac. I've never been able yet to get the 24 bit hd thing figured out. Burned audio from the flacs, playing now on my Rotel, sounds great. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. The Allmans final show Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. By now you probably know Butch was an original member of the band. BTW, the final show is available foe download at ABBLive.com. I listened to most of it on Sirius while driving to Portchester, gonna make the purchase as soon as I finish my morning coffee and pre-order the Portchester Road Cases.
  22. Not having been at the Lupo's show, I always say that about the next show at the Orpheum. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. When I was following the Twitter feed last night, I saw a Tweet from a female who tweeted that she had just been "shushed" at the Wilco show. I couldn't believe she was complaining about that, and wanted to Tweet her back to STFU, but decided not to get into a twitter war with some person i don't know about a show I wasn't even at. But still, can you believe it? I'm going to find that tweet. I have to say the balcony on Wednesday was very quiet, there were no talkers. Everyone in rapt attention. The Tuesday night audience recording has too much audience chatter.
  24. Caught one show (Wednesday), I keep telling myself to be thankful for that (given that I live outside Boston), but crap, I look at these setlists and can't help but kick myself for not working this out to see multiple nights. The old Deadhead in me always went to multiple nights in the same city. 89 songs in 3 nights, that is amazing to me, I don't know how they do that. Six musicians knowing all their parts and lyrics for 89 intricately and expertly played songs. Music savants.
  25. Two Wilco shows and then the Phil run. That is how to live my friend! Color me jealous. Can you give us a link to the video?
