I was wondering about that, too. Would love to see a full set from both those bands.

Shortest distance: about 3 miles to the St. Augustine Amphitheatre Longest: By air from Jacksonville, FL to Manchester, NH, plus road miles on either side. The first year, we got delayed and had to fly to Detroit and then on to Manchester so that one covered the most distance.

Now that the spring tour has come to an end, it's time to start getting really excited about Solid Sound! And, lucky me, the Saturday of that weekend is my birthday!

I'm sure ticket stubs and t-shirts will be plentiful (which is all I've got as far as memorabilia), but I did see they're asking for Wilco stories to be submitted via FB. I know there are some amazing ones out there-- maybe I'll send in mine! The key elements are a honeymoon, a surprise first Wilco show, and getting peed on.

Ah, Summerteeth. The one where I fell deep into the Wilco well. All the studio tomfoolery intrigued me (birds chirping! opera samples!) but the lyrics are what cemented it. Sleepy kissers, fragile family trees, cups cracked and hooked. Sigh.

This is terrific-- like we needed more ammo to reinforce how great it is to be a Wilco fan!

I would have thought that the distributor for Brendan Canty's other films (Ashes, Burn to Shine series) would distribute this one. But there's probably more to it than that.

I love what you said there. I feel my my fandom waning at times, and then I see a show where they reinforce every bit of energy I've ever expended in their direction. The shows on this tour have been the best and most magical of any I've seen. Wilco abides. Thanks for posting-- terrific photos BTW!

After their Autumn Defense set at the last Solid Sound, Pat & John hung out for a meet and greet in the courtyard. Of all the guys, they seem the most accessible and appear to really enjoy interacting with fans.

Yeah, I meant the deep sludgy version (Camera) has won me over. I only first heard it at the Orlando show, and I missed the acoustic guitar of the kinder, gentler version (Kamera). But on second hearing, and in a live setting, I liked it a whole lot.

That show was absolutely incendiary. Fantastic set list, great energy from the band, an enthusiastic audience. Jeff was all smiles the whole night! Highlights for me were Pot Kettle Black, Camera (I'm a convert), the ever-raucous Monday, Dark Neon (never heard before), and, of course, Hoodoo Voodoo. With cowbell. Thank you, Wilco, for bringing the magic to F-L-A!!!

Apparently Wilco frowns on picture taking but it is certainly done! Recent posts on here suggest they might be getting soft on their stance. It's pretty hard to control cell phone use. I think the best thing is to snap a few and then put it away and enjoy the show.

After living in Florida for 20+ years, I'm finally getting around to reading Cross Creek by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings. It is a gem of a book.

What a night! Still reeling. I love a show that opens with ALTWYS. But to have Red Eyed/I Got You right up front was crazy! So fast out of the gate. I remember thinking, "wait! I'm not ready yet!" Great, great show. As promised, that venue was perfect for Wilco. We walked in just as the opener finished and were able to get pretty close-- good sight lines. Excellent sound. Ready for more on Friday night!

The Tampa 2012 show was unbelievable too, and it can be found on sooutoftune.org

I feel the same way. It's a fun and different way to enjoy the band and have a singalong, but i like it best when they end by slaying you with rock. Getting whipped into a frenzy with the serious rockers (I Got You, Monday, etc) and ending on that high point, is always one of the highlights for me.

I think there will be a few of us FLA VCers there tomorrow night! Thank goodness it's an indoor venue because all that rain that drenched Jazzfest over the weekend is headed our way. Raining now, and not supposed to let up for a couple of days. Forecast looks perfect for Friday night's show, however. Let the wild Wilco rumpus start!
