You could visit Deland, a really nice little town between Orlando and St. Augustine. A little ways off the interstate, but well worth it. Near Deland is Blue Springs State Park, a beautiful spot worth checking out. Deland has a sweet little downtown, with restaurants and antique shops. The drive up A1A between Daytona and St. Augustine is great. Little beach towns and many miles of coastline.

Were you at the last show in St. Augustine in 2012? The venue had so many empty seats, I figured Wilco would never come back. The upper tier is the only section that is uncovered. Until this week it has been super rainy and you're taking a real chance with the weather. At any rate, I'm so excited they did decide to return and looking forward to the Orlando show, too! I hope the sound at that Hard Rock venue will be great. ** Oops, post completely unrelated to Houston show.

The extras sound fun and weird, as usual. Especially want to see the Lomax New Orleans music documentary and maybe stop the party long enough for a hike this year! I hope the Solid Sound documentary will be on sale, but it would be nice to see it on a big screen.

A kindred spirit!My favorite cheap beer is an icy cold can of Busch. Out of a cooler. Also a big fan of Moosehead and Stella. The craft beers are too much flavor for my palate and too much alcohol for my brain. When it comes to wine, however, I am much more discerning. Cheap beer, yes; cheap wine, no.

At SSF 2013, there was a shuttle stop in Williamstown right by the Dunkin' Donuts. I love not having to drive into North Adams!

Yeah, as far as I know. Although that was what they called the show last Ocober in Raleigh, and it turns out there was no opener because there was a wedding at the venue and there just wasn't enough time. It was pretty much a standard show, time-wise. I know I've said this on this board before, but not seeing the 2010(?) tour where they did the 3- hour shows, the true "Evening With," is one of my biggest regrets!

If no opener would mean "An Evening With" type show, that would make me very happy! We'll have to see how the spring tour unfolds.

Watched this last night. It was riveting, but for me, ultimately unsatisfying. I can't figure out why the band leader was such a sadistic asshole. He claims it's to find someone like a Charlie Parker, that this kind of talent wouldn't show itself under ordinary circumstances. But his treatment of his students is so abusive that I think this guy has demons that the film never reveals.

Been reading "American Pastoral" by Philip Roth. It is amazing.

I'm amazed how performers in general drag themselves onstage when they're sick, but to perform with a migraine seems superhuman.

I read Lena Dunham's book last week. I don't especially get her or even appreciate her television/film work that much, but I'm sort of fascinated nevertheless. After that I re-read a bunch of David Sedaris stuff and loved every word.

My first Wilco show was free, too! But I've shelled out a whole lotta clams to see them since then. At least we can have this exchange! Thankfully, Wilco still tours as much as they do. We're lucky.

Maybe even multiple showings! But it would be kind of weird to spend part of 2015 Solid Sound watching 2013 Solid Sound.

My daughter's friend was just telling me she has to save up $150 to see Taylor Swift. WTF! We used to pay like $15 to see big acts when I first started going to concerts in high school. REM, U2... I have a Billy Idol stub somewhere that says $12 on it. Unfortunately, the concert was in Philadelphia and I didn't have a ride. Adjusted for inflation, the average ticket price for Wilco seems about right ($43-47). I think I'd pay $80 for Red Rocks, being the iconic venue that it is.

Google search doesn't find anything new about the film since the Big Sky Film Festival debut. Anybody heard any news about release?

That would be so great. I love all things Mac. But I love all things Wilco, too, and that's what SSF is all about!
