  1. Only problem with that theory is Jeff has been puking due to migraines since he was a kid. Read this for a better insight: http://migraine.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/03/05/shaking-it-off/
  2. Can you change the skin like in the VC boards of yesteryear?
  3. And anyone can play guitar, too.
  4. This is maybe wishful thinking, but it would be extremely cool if someone set up a Jay Bennett School of Music or do something similar (i.e. a music scholarship) in his honor. I think a lot of people would donate money, time and energies to that.
  5. This is really sad if it's true. I hope he's finding some peace and serenity wherever he is.
  6. Orkie / Essox - you accused AGIB of being Billy Joel b-sides / c-sides. Change your tune?
  7. Heard 'You Never Know' again on XRT this morning. It's making my commute ever so sweet.
  8. I think Jeff's head in that pic has its own weather system.
  9. This brings about some serious iPhone envy, which I already had a healthy dose of.
  10. When the cool light shakes you Like a chandelier When the snowflakes break through The atmosphere And melt on the blue breath Of the auctioneers And disappear
  11. I've heard a ton of interesting drumming on this album - if you want to a specific track, the drums on Everlasting is pretty inventive IMO. He's definitely doing more here than the more straightforward timekeeping on SBS.
  12. This is too hard, but here's three songs I likey: 1. Poor Places 2. Via Chicago 3. Wishful Thinking
  13. I'm sending you a bill for the keyboard I just spat Coke all over.
  14. To me, this discussion is only relevant in terms of a career milestone. Wilco's achieved a few - several Grammy awards, an SNL guest spot, several Billboard top ten albums, an RIAA Gold record, etc. The cover of RS isn't the milestone it used to be. Being on the cover of Rolling stone was something that people were inspired to write songs about... (not great songs, but still...) Even given the fact that the magazine has slid quite a bit over the years as far as relevance / importance, I'd still be pretty proud if they made it on there.
  15. Yeah, there's been a lot of kiddies on the cover over the years. I'm not exactly sure what Zac Effron has to do with a magazine whose ostensible primary focus is rock and roll. There is a fine line between covering cultural phenomenons and pandering to teens with disposable incomes, and RS has been guilty of the latter, which makes it a glorified Tiger Beat, I suppose. Still, I'd like to think it's possible this time around.
  16. I don't want to jinx anything, but how about it?
  17. Here's an interesting article on how the leak went down on Twitter and the like. I haven't seen it posted anywhere else: http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/wilco-...003973292.story Wilco Album Leak Generates 'Net Buzz May 14, 2009 02:49 PM ET Michael D. Ayers, N.Y. When Wilco fans woke up Wednesday (May 13), the web was already abuzz with chatter about the Chicago based band -- namely, the group's seventh album "Wilco (The Album)" had leaked. The band responded by immediately streaming it in its entirety from their own wilcoworld.net website, something the group has done with its past

  19. If I were captain of this fine vessel known as VC, I'd merge all the Just a Fan threads into a single megathread tonight, but that's just me.
  20. I take great offense that my thread was deemed 'inane', it took well over two hours to write. I'm going to delete one W(TA) MP3 off my iPod for every hour that the admin staff refuses to let my original and unique Wilco-Hating voice be heard.
  21. That's is a pretty nifty web site. I'd probably like it even better if I habla'ed Espanol.
  22. Most albums have a high Wilco percentage, but this album has Wilco dominating every song... WTF? I mean, even the Feist song has Wilco writing, singing and playing all the instruments. It's devoid of creative tension / energy / karmic transitional flow, which clearly is due to the chakras of the band members lacking any kind of alignment. The fact that there is way too much Wilco on this album, plus the fact that the first song and the album itself is called Wilco, is I think the reason why I can't stand the album, and after 14th listens my opinion remains unwavering. As sorely disappointed
