  1. All good questions. I mean, I'm embarrassed because I live in Boston and have heard their name for years but hadn't really paid attention until a couple of years ago. I liked their previous album (A Band Is Something To Figure Out) but I think this new one is a big step up - which is rare for a band 15 years into their career. And I wonder if the four songs you call undeniably great are the same four that I do ...
  2. Where's PopTodd? He's usually pretty active in this topic ... Thoughts? Reactions?
  3. Thanks to those on here who recommended this. It's great and is in regular rotation for me.
  4. I'm partial because my daughter was an extra in the movie but I thought it was great. I saw 1917 last night, which was also great but left me in a very different mood from the night before when I saw Jojo Rabbit.
  5. Saw Jojo Rabbit last night and loved it.
  6. Ha! If you hate it, I'll buy it from you ...
  7. This baseball cheating scandal is weird. I get the punishment but it's interesting that it's GMs and managers who are the focus and not any players. And it's too bad - I like Alex Cora but he had to go.
  8. It's been a while since I have been as obsessed with an album as much as I am currently obsessed with this one (I'm You by Hallelujah the Hills).
  9. Good lord! Don't know why it took me so long to listen to this [songs: Ohia -- Magnolia Electric Company]. It's right up my alley and it's great.
  10. I did. I've seen them before but I'm not super-knowledgable about them. They rocked. Big riffs.
  11. The second two on here are two of my faves so I'm going to check out Songs: Ohia. I don't have a whole list but I think my favorite album of the year is I'm You by Hallelujah the Hills. I saw them the other night and they played everything from the album and it was really great.
  12. Been meaning to pick this up. How is it?
  13. Magnetic Fields (actually last night)
  14. Really liking I'm You, the new one from Hallelujah the Hills.
  15. Yes! Did you end up shooting? I have mixed feelings about it. I think the sound is good and like it more when I've been up close. The ongoing food service during the show bugs me and the awkwardness of sort of sitting sideways is uncomfortable.
  16. The Washington Post has a very detailed, interesting, and well done (multi-media) look at the 50th anniversary of Altamont. I appreciate that they provide a lot of background on who Meredith Hunter was. In many tellings he just the guy who was killed. To me the Dead's role in the whole thing has always seemed confused but in this story they are much more in the middle of things than I had understood. https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2019/lifestyle/altamont-rolling-stones-50th-anniversary/
  17. A little late to the party - but we just watched both seasons of Fleabag. I really loved it.
  18. I saw them do the Acoustic Foolish show last week and have been listening to a lot of Superchunk recently.
  19. I usually go for You're Living All Over Me or Bug when I want early Dino Jr but I just put this on. I forgot how great this is.
  20. From Hitchcock's FB post: "Stars of Joy - I’m opening for Wilco at their first two Chicago shows this December! These will be festive nights, which I will do my best to garnish with Brit dismalia. There’s some ‘family’ links between us: Scott McCaughey has worked extensively with us both; Pat Sansone plays on my new single; and in his Uncle Tupelo days, Jeff Tweedy recorded I Wanna Destroy You with his then-colleague Jay Farrar. Plus it’s always a major groove playing Chicago - yaysville! Thanks, fellas..."
  21. Ha! I'll pass along the message ...
