  1. Ha! I watched it last night and really liked it. I only went in there once and found it somewhat intimidating. Oddly, the documentary doesn't mention (unless I missed it) that Josh Madell, one of the owners, was the drummer for Antietam for many years.
  2. Taking a break from Talking Heads to listen to this.
  3. They really are. And so different from each other. I'm enjoying the book - but it definitely seems like Frantz needed an outlet to publicly vent about Byrne.
  4. Reading Chris Frantz's autobiography so I'm revisiting the early albums.
  5. 7. I'm really enjoying that one. The Queen Jane Approximately is fantastic.
  8. Happy birthday Joe Strummer ...
  9. Wow! Missed last night but need to track this down ...
  10. I've lost interest in Kozelek's music a while ago - and he seemed pretty unpleasant - but he's a fucking creep. https://pitchfork.com/news/mark-kozelek-of-sun-kil-moon-accused-of-sexual-misconduct-by-three-women/
  11. And I forgot to mention that Dr. John was the opener.
  12. And now I'm on to this. Mainly about two guys in their 60s talking and drinking and talking and drinking.
  13. Agree with you that there was sometimes too much inside information. And it's a tough task - there is so much written about Churchill/WWII/the Blitz that it is hard to come up with something fresh.
  14. Also notable that it was my first Wilco show! I have a recording of it but I'm guessing this one is better. I'll give it a listen.
  15. https://pitchfork.com/news/lou-reed-new-york-reissue-announced/ Rhino has announced a reissue of Lou Reed’s 1989 album, New York. The 3xCD/DVD/2xLP deluxe edition arrives September 25. New York: Deluxe Edition features the first-ever remastered recordings of the album, 26 unreleased studio and live tracks, and a DVD of the long out-of-print “The New York Album” concert film, which features Reed performing the album in Montreal at the Theatre St. Denis. The reissue also includes a hardcover book produced by Laurie Anderson, Don Fleming, Bill Ingot, Jason Stern, and the late Hal Willner, wit
  16. Put this on for the first time in a while. There's some great stuff on it.
  17. Analogman - love your take on The Splendid and the Vile. I'll say, I liked it quite a bit. I appreciate that it was focused one a single year and that it focused on the details and the people rather than just the big picture.
