  1. Posted over in Now Playing but it's the 50th anniversary of 2/13/70 - my fave Dark Star.
  2. 50th anniversary of this show. My fave Dark Star.
  3. It (Hallelujah the Hills) was not as good as the record release show I saw back in December but it was very good. Last night was part of a weird Twin Peaks themed night of music so they mixed up their set a bit. They played a handful of songs from the new album. And the sound in the place was not good. But it was lots of fun. The December show might have been my favorite show of last year. They played most of the new album at that show and ended the main set with the last three songs from the album - which are three of my faves. During the "Hi, Hello, How Are you" part of I Went Throug
  4. Lt. Col. Alex Vindman, the top Ukraine expert at the National Security Council, was fired today and escorted out of the White House by security. His twin brother Army Lt. Col. Yevgeny Vindman, an ethics lawyer for the NSC, was also dismissed from his job today.
  5. For vinyl lovers, this probably won't help: https://pitchfork.com/news/devastating-manufacturing-plant-fire-threatens-worldwide-vinyl-record-supply/
  6. Exile Follies: Kristin Hersh, John Doe, Grant-Lee Phillips
  7. Very bummed about Mookie Betts being traded. I get why the management felt like they had to but I'm sure going to miss watching him play.
  8. RIP Andy Gill. I only saw them on their reunion tour but it was a phenomenal show.
  9. All good questions. I mean, I'm embarrassed because I live in Boston and have heard their name for years but hadn't really paid attention until a couple of years ago. I liked their previous album (A Band Is Something To Figure Out) but I think this new one is a big step up - which is rare for a band 15 years into their career. And I wonder if the four songs you call undeniably great are the same four that I do ...
  10. Where's PopTodd? He's usually pretty active in this topic ... Thoughts? Reactions?
  11. Thanks to those on here who recommended this. It's great and is in regular rotation for me.
  12. I'm partial because my daughter was an extra in the movie but I thought it was great. I saw 1917 last night, which was also great but left me in a very different mood from the night before when I saw Jojo Rabbit.
  13. Saw Jojo Rabbit last night and loved it.
  14. Ha! If you hate it, I'll buy it from you ...
  15. This baseball cheating scandal is weird. I get the punishment but it's interesting that it's GMs and managers who are the focus and not any players. And it's too bad - I like Alex Cora but he had to go.
  16. It's been a while since I have been as obsessed with an album as much as I am currently obsessed with this one (I'm You by Hallelujah the Hills).
  17. Good lord! Don't know why it took me so long to listen to this [songs: Ohia -- Magnolia Electric Company]. It's right up my alley and it's great.
  18. I did. I've seen them before but I'm not super-knowledgable about them. They rocked. Big riffs.
  19. The second two on here are two of my faves so I'm going to check out Songs: Ohia. I don't have a whole list but I think my favorite album of the year is I'm You by Hallelujah the Hills. I saw them the other night and they played everything from the album and it was really great.
  20. Been meaning to pick this up. How is it?
  21. Magnetic Fields (actually last night)
  22. Really liking I'm You, the new one from Hallelujah the Hills.
