  1. I just went to a store to buy a copy. They probably had 100 copies of the CD in the store and probably 90% of them were the image on the bottom row, 2nd from the right. I bought the one in the lower right hand corner, which was the only other option.

  3. I was there but only heard a portion of his set as I as walking between the main stage (where I had been watching Calexico) and the small stage (where I was going to see Dawes). Yim Yames did come out and play two songs with John Prine at the end of Prine's set.
  4. Wilco fans like to talk about baseball but they don't always agree.
  5. I heard that Prince declared that the Arcade Fire is over. Talking to The Mirror, Prince said: “The Arcade Fire is completely over." He went on to say: “The Arcade Fire’s like MTV. At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. All these songs about neighborhoods are no good. They just fill your head with numbers and that cant be good for you.”
  6. I like that one but I love Eleven:Eleven. And not to totally derail the thread but did you see that they are playing at TTs in September?
  7. Me too. I read about half of it today (I'm on vacation).
  8. Final time I plug this (I swear): Bill Janovitz is playing a one-off solo acoustic show at Schuba's in Chicago on July 16.
  9. From the Onion: Rock Fans Outraged As Bob Dylan Goes Electronica NEWPORT, RI—Audience members at the Newport Rock Festival were "outraged" Monday when rock icon Bob Dylan followed up such classic hits as "Like A Rolling Stone" and "Maggie's Farm" with an electronica set composed of atonal drones, hyperactive drumbeats, and the repeated mechanized lyric "Dance to the club life!" "We came here to see the authentic Dylan, the one with the Stratocaster guitar and signature wild blues-rock band behind him," audience member Robert Hochschild said. "Then he walks out with these puffy headphone
  10. This is one of his great Letterman appearances: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0akXKxbflM&feature=player_embedded
  11. Sad news. His appearances on Letterman were always fantastic.
  12. He also overdoes it with the quotation marks ...
  13. I'm still a big Tanya Donelly fan. On her website she has a series of demos from Star and a note explaining that they were supposed to be a second Breeders' album.
  14. I can't believe there is going to be a one-hour TV special for LeBron to make his announcement. What is going to happen in the first 59 minutes?
  15. Inspired by the 1990s pop rock thread: Bettie Serveert - Palomine
  16. You are right. After I posted it I almost went back and changed it to "Love him or begrudgingly respect and admire him, there was ..."
  17. I love that song. I still like the studio version more than any live version I have heard.
  18. I wonder what percentage of people read Prince's claim that the internet is over on-line?
  19. Love him or hate him, there was a pretty interesting article about Mariano Rivera in Sunday's NYT Magazine. The on-line version includes a really cool infographic detailing his cut fastball.
  20. Lawn Dart by Ed's Redeeming Qualities It was the third of July and the weather was fine Ed brought the hot dogs, the croquet set was mine But the red ball was missing and three mallets were bent Ed suggested lawn darts so to K-Mart we went We looked by the yard games, we looked by the grills But we couldn't find lawn darts come high water or hills We talked to the sales clerk and she started to cry She said "They're off the shelves now," and she told us both why: A kid was pegged in the head with a lawn dart Her dad didn't see 'er, that's the worst part; A kid was pegged in the head with
  21. No Girlfriend? That is still my favorite M. Sweet album. For me his stuff wasn't as good without both Robert Quine and Richard Lloyd.
  22. And didn't REM (or was it wilcoworld?) release a live version of Country Feedback that Wilco plays on? I swear I have that somewhere ...
