I used to watch a lot of tennis and saw a lot of McEnroe and Connors tantrums but I never saw them say anything like "I would like to take this fu**ing tennis ball and shove it down your fu**ing throat ..." while pointing at a line judge with a racquet.

Definitely sad. I saw him read a couple of times (and got him to sign my copy of the Basketball Diaries) and he was always entertaining.

Really, really liked this book ...

I really really like it, even after just a few listens. My one complaint is the sequencing of the songs. Ending it with the three long songs doesn't really work for me.

They have been playing a couple of new songs that sound pretty good. I found this quote in this interview. Howard: And are you guys recording at all? Glenn: I did demos of some new songs. I have kind of been recording all along. I did a solo record, had everybody from the Feelies except Bill play on it. We are kind of looking toward that as a goal. But not knocking ourselves out with it either. We never were really that prolific anyway so…I can’t foresee us having albums with this stuff any time soon but we are working towards that.

The reissues of Crazy Rhythms and the Good Earth are out today. I just went to go buy them but didn't pull the trigger. I already have them both on vinyl and CD and somehow having a third copy of each seems a little silly.

Indeed they were, particularly the second night. I was just thinking of those shows because yesterday I drove home to Boston from Bar Harbor and drove right by the Augusta Civic Center.

Haven't seen this mentioned before but I just saw a preview for a movie called Passenger Side that includes someone (Greg Dulli maybe?) covering Passenger Side. The credits also say that the movie features songs by a lot of cool bands, including Wilco.

I saw them in 2006 and it was really great. You are right: the rhythm section (live and on record) is tremendous. But he said that Andy Gill and Jon King are playing some shows in England this summer as Gang of Four but without Burnham and Dave Allen.
