Can't believe how they do it. There are six box seats, same box, and all I could pull was a single ticket at 10:00. Has to be a software thing, where they can beat captcha, and queue up quicker. I am disgusted with the scalping thing. Hung on the xrt presale and scored two today at 10:18. glad it is a smalll venue. Last row, first balcony. Hoping they smoke the scalpers out like they did last year and resell the tickets. HAd enough of these dirtbags.

I couldn't help but think Kot has skin in the game, and may be trying to over compensate by being somewhat negative for the sake of credibility. The term vaudeville didn't resonate at all, I think whomever mentioned ragtime at least had the right idea. And I got the idea he was saying the middle was filler. I may be wrong. Anyway, I think that Born Alone is a great song, and I love Open Mind too. In the end ,a review is the opinion of the writer, and I thought he did a good job, just wondering if he was critical to maintain credibility. Cant knock him though, he is good.

Thank you to whomever wrote they waited until 10:20 and got a pair. I gave up at 10:03 on front gate. On the xrt presale I finally got two tickets at 10:18. They are so far in the back they come with a mop and I think I have to clean up after, but happy I got them. I promised my daughters, 11 and 15, they could go. Want their first concert to be a great show where the artist cares for its fans, and this is the band that delivers. Agree, kind of a sunken treasure for the new decade. Really starting to love this song. Makes 12 minutes fly. Am hoping the vinyl version turns out to be longer like I have heard in other interviews.

The term jam band is almost a slam. I think of string cheese incident (I am sure they are great, by the way, just not my thing) and am put off. I am a Dead fan, like Phish, but the jam part of their thing is secondary to their talent. I think of jam bands as less talent, more time. Again, a total bias, but Wilco is talent that takes the concert goer on a ride of sorts while they explore their sound in different ways. Very distressing by the way. Planned to irk the shit out of my neighbors all night by playing art of almost, vinyl, on the sansui 9090. Last sunday, 10 ocklock at night, they were singing songs about corn. They had a corn party, as it is the end of the harvest. The stream turned out to be great. I mentioned how good it was to one of the non Wilco's in the office had to stay late due to workload, and his smart ass coment wa that out of the 50 wilco fans in the country only 25 have internet, and 20 of them use 33.6kb modems. Then he heard Whole Love, and think I converted him. What a great stream and thanks for the tip.

I wasnt happy with Greg Kot's review in the trib. I tink he gave 3 out of 4 not to look like a homer. Calling the middle of the album out as being Wilco like made me angry. I think Born Alone is great, Open Mind is a wonderfulsong.. Anyway, people who focus on the endcaps are missing the soul of this album. Art of Almost is great, given, One Sunday morning is beautiful, but in between is great music that shouldn;t be dismissed. Just a thought.

I think of it more as the Smile Brian Wilson wanted to make before he snapped.

Open Mind. I don't know why, but it was the first song that struck me. One Sunday Morning is great, the Whole album is good for that matter, but Open Mind just kind of hit me.

I got one. I kept trying two, then for the hell of it I tried one and got a great seat. I promised my daughters that I would take them. They are 11 and 16 and raised on Wilco. I have to figure out how to get three tickets together. If one will do you, row k, and I can get three together, it is yours for free if you want. I was devasted as well.

I like the analogy. I knew it reminded me of something. Heroes and Villains is that same sort of jarring stop and start thing. I really do like Capitol City. I originally thought it was a nice little diversion but I have started wondering what the hell it is about. It sounds like he is making excuses as to why he hasn't called, why she shouldn't join him, but then he says he will go back home, or back where she is. I just don't see it. They are ten yearls older, and "they" is subjective in that it is a new lineup, O'Rourke is out of the picture, and the album reflects where they are now, not where they were then. I can easily compare a lot of classic rock bands, say an ACDC, album by album, because they never change. I could never take a Wilco album from today and compare it to one from the past. I once heard a guy say that the Flaming Lips Yoshimi.. sucks because they didn't carry forward the sound they had on Soft Bulletin, that Yoshimi was too "techno". Agree. I remember the first time Iistened to it star tto finish and how I felt sad it was over, that I would never hear it again for the first time. That is the mark of a great album.

Truly a happy anniversary. I had to sit and wait, and wait, and wait, for buffering issues about a week after it came out. Made it too hard to enjoy. Then I got a copy on disc from an IT friend of mine. I listened to a couple of songs, there was a "meh" moment, and put it away for a month or so. One afternoon, working in my home office, I threw it in and let it play while I was engrossed in work and didnt hit the skip button.
