I would say jam bands are a musical blind spot, but they don't fit the question as stated in the article: There is nothing about them that I feel I'm supposed to like, nor is there much fuss over them aside from a small but fervent following. The sudden rise in popularity of The Black Keys might make them fit the question and, if so, I would say them. Other than that, there aren't many things I don't like or where I can't find something to like.

Just proving my point in the previous post. It's pop music for Chrissakes!

What a bunch of old sticks-in-the-mud.

Weird. What's not to like? She has many, many hit songs that are unassailable. It's a halftime show at the Super Bowl, meaning it's meant to appeal to the largest television audience in the world. Sure, I like Tom Petty and The Who better than Madonna, but those were boring halftime shows. It's not a concert. It's supposed to be a well-produced and elaborate spectacle. And it definitely delivered on that front.

Who doesn't like Madonna? She played three classic songs. Nothing dreadful about it. The addition of Cirque du Soleil was nice, too.

I thought it was a great halftime show. Easily among the top three of all-time, and maybe the best. I couldn't really tell if she was lip-synching or not, but I couldn't care less either way. It was visually stunning and fun. That's all you need for a halftime show.

And we already have an album better than anything released last year.

My theory is that it was a subconscious act done in order to sign with the Rangers at a discounted price and avoid admonishment from the players' union.

I never thought the discussion on the '08 race was unreasonable. Unless you count LouieB's contributions to the political threads.

I thought it was a pretty good review.

Fort Recovery is a great album.

It can't.

I'm glad the Rangers didn't commit that much to Fielder.

I'll be glad when they rid themselves of their Nick Lowe obsession.

Sacrilege.

It's definitely one that they need to retire. Very tired of it.

I love Josh, but I would rather sign Prince than keep Josh if it's an either/or proposition (which it undoubtedly is).
-
Now that Yu is signed, dare I think about the possibility of also adding Prince?

What order do you put Wes Anderson's films in?
bleedorange replied to bttrbuffalo's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
It's actually one of the few Roald Dahl books that I never read. I'm not sure if that added to my enjoyment of the film or not, but I thought it was a nice return to form for Wes Anderson's after his two previous lesser efforts. For me, at least. -
How the hell did they get away with it?

The way I understood it is that if you try to create a word that does not exist, it gives you an "invalid word" message and lets you try again to come up with a real word. Thus, no penalty or challenge, just the opportunity to make up words until you find a good one.

That's funny! I can kind of see that with the small picture.
