Michael Young had a great season, but he wasn't even the MVP of the Rangers. Ian Kinsler and Adrian Beltre were much more valuable this year, and I think an argument could be made for Mike Napoli. Young is probably fourth.

Since there are so many Dead fans on this board, it's always fun to rile them up. I will say that I see them as a niche group with limited appeal and minimal influence. Therefore, I don't think they truly belong in the discussion. Admittedly, they have a fervent fan base. So do a lot of bands. But from an objective standpoint for this question, I don't think they're close.

I know...#673 is probably a little too high. Maybe somewhere in the 700s is a little more appropriate.

What's the deal with that? Is it only available on vinyl? Is it good?

I'm thankful for the fact that my pulmonary embolisms are gone and thankful for modern medicine that keeps my blood thin. I'm also thankful for my 4-year-old daughter who lights up every single day of my existence.

Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of the most underrated bands.

It has been a really long time since I bought a CD. I listen to everything on Spotify and if there is something I really like, I'll wait until it goes on sale for a good price ($5) on Amazon. I'll buy LPs of artists I love, but it's nice not having the clutter that CDs take up, especially since I would only use them once, when ripping the songs to the computer. It would be nice if labels started offering noncompressed downloads. But I'm sure they would be too expensive anyway and the bitrate that is currently available on all mp3s is good enough for my ears.

My daughter can listen to the Rudolph soundtrack over and over again. Fortunately, she also likes my dad's barbershop chorus's Christmas CD, too. I throw some others into the mix, too, including this: which has the greatest Christmas song ever: "What Month was Jesus Born In?"

Thanks for the bump. Our decorations have been up for a week and a half, so it looks like we got the same early jump this year as we did last year. It just needs to get a little colder.

Calvin and Hobbes is definitely the greatest. I recently got out my 3-volume set and re-read the whole run.

My mom always loved The Family Circus. And there was always a strip here and there that seemed to be modeled on our family in some way that brought a smile to her face and ours. For that, I will be grateful to a man I never knew and feel bad for the people that did know him and loved him.

I think you're right about our similar tastes from what I can remember. That Yellowbirds album was the first thing I heard this year that really jumped out and grabbed me. And I think I listen to "Our Good Days Are Gone" at least once a week.

It's just hard to believe that the university has not taken swifter action regarding this. Anyone and everyone who knew about it and then allowed it to continue should be gone by now. It's sickening.

I don't listen to the Dawes or Kurt Vile album correctly.

I've never seen them live, but I love both of their albums.
