  1. Just finished listening to the album for the first time...it's damn good.
  2. Downloading The Arcade Fire now...but so far this morning it's been: Band of Horses - Infinite Arms Pavement - S+E Smashing Pumpkins - Machina II
  3. Or at least that's what the Germans would have you believe. Anybody know of anywhere that's gonna have this album on sale (i.e., cheaper than Merge)? CD or LP?
  4. The best description of this album ever. np: Been listening to the Pumpkins pretty much non-stop for a week.
  5. Are they even worth seeing for $57 + the usual additional fees for just one ticket. They're coming to Asheville in September but that seems like a lot of dough to cough up to see them.
  6. Del McCoury puts on a hell of a show. I saw him a few years back and thoroughly enjoyed the night. The one chance I had to see Steve in town was a day that my parents were visiting about 8 years ago and he hasn't been back since. I love his records. Check them all out.
  7. Just now getting around to listening to this and it's great. I liked the EPs a great deal but the LP is way better.
  8. Ryan has said that Orion will get a a second pressing with different art and a lower vinyl-gram quality. That's good enough for me and it's a plus because it will be cheaper than the $30+ it was on initial release.
  9. Thanks, thinking of the single which is sitting next to the stereo as I type/typed.
  10. I am the opposite. I fell like Zebra is their finest work. Devotion was okay but lacked brilliance in some parts but for me Zebra is one of the most engaging and mesmerizing LPs of the year. Every time I listen to it I am enthralled by it. There aren't too many albums I can say that about without feeling "funny"...
  11. Sentridoh - Lou Barlow and His Sentridoh Sun Kil Moon - April
  12. I had won free tickets to a show he did in Asheville a a few months back but ended up not going. I regret that now. He's alright but I have never given his work a fair shake I suppose. But when I do hear his work, I am generally into it.
  13. I know he's playing at the Grey Eagle in Asheville on September 8th.
  14. Sebadoh - Smash Your Head on the Punk Rock Folk Implosion - Take a Look Inside
  15. Listen to the record yesterday while I was cleaning the house and it's really a beautiful sounding record. Every time I hear his music, I say to myself, "I wish I could play the guitar like him." I do believe his music is more suited for the fall/winter time though. That's when I break out his music normally. But this album sounds damn fine to me. Very solid record in my opinion.
  16. I got my copy in the mail today but I haven't had time to listen to it yet.
  17. My Top Five: Spoon - Transference Beach House - Zebra Wild Nothing - Gemini Surfers Blood - Astro Coast The National - High Violet I really like Band of Horses' new one a lot too. And even though it doesn't count per se, I really am enjoying the Japandroids single series.
  18. I like Moses okay, but I really feel like We All Got Out of the Army is far better than anything since From a Compound Eye. Elephant Jokes was also nice.
  19. My wife and I spun that a few weeks back. I felt old. How about the Blake Babies? Julianna Hatfield is great and very hot to boot.
  20. Fifth song - Freak This one is great: I'm loving it. Makes me very excited to see them next week in Charlotte.
  21. Smashing Pumpkins - Pisces Iscariot Beulah - Yoko
