Top tip - you can save yourself some time and effort - just say Ta. It says it all. -
On the face of it a hum-drum last match of the pool stages with Fiji expected to beat Portugal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F99GuKSG5GY However it turned into an epic encounter with Portugal winning by a point and amazing scenes at the end as if Portugal had won the world cup itself. It meant that much for them to get their first ever win against a 'big' team - whilst Fiji themselves are the usual underdogs they are a recognised rugby country compared to Portugal. Some real Portuguese heroes (some of them still not fully professional) to treasure rather than that tw

So, I am increasingly inclined to declare that Cousin is my favourite Wilco album. There is a reluctance because it still maybe doesn't have a track that is up there to join the complete Wilco belters for me, but then again it does not have a track that fails to land. Every other Wilco album has at least one, and usually 2 or 3, tracks that I just don't like that much. Every song has a memorable melody, which is king for me, as I think someone else said above. I would struggle to hum any of the Cruel Country/Ode To Joy/Warm/Warmer songs - I just don't remember them (not that I have liste

Interesting thoughts - thanks. I like reading about how people receive their music, and in an environment where they are not jumped on for expressing personal opinions one way or another.

Few things to do this morning even before breakfast. You know when I first saw the thread title my heart leapt - it's so good to know the report was there waiting as I got my cuppa ready (rather than an unpredictable midday arrival) I put it down to the extra couple of hours time difference for CA. Imagine my disappointment now that I actually open the thread. Bollocks.

Feel the latest album suffers from the lack of an acronym. In this Tik-Tok age that just doesn't cut it for me, so it has to be judged on that basis. AM BT ST YHF AGIB SBS WTA TWL SW WS OTJ CC C

1. Yes 2. Yes 3. Yes 4. Yes 5. Yes 6. Yes 7 Yes 8. Yes 9. Yes 10. Yes! Yes! Yes! Nice to hear a brighter, more diverse aural palette employed (back to Whole Love territory - which is a good thing). Nothing that I don't like (which is rare) but also nothing on first listen that immediately reaches up to the greatest heights of past favourites. Feel like there could be some growers though so not ruling that out (check back for an update if you can be arsed . . .). Overall pretty happy after the past few albums.

Ta(lsa) P.S. I did notice that you had initially mis-spelt Soldier Child, but decided not to pick you up on it after all you do for the cause. -
RWC of course. So Wales dominated Australia. That makes it Wales and our spirit brothers Fiji qualifying from our group in the dream scenario for the quarter finals in 3 weeks (couple more rounds of group games to go - 1 more versus Georgia for Wales which is inconsequential to our qualification). Happy days. P.S. Especially since Fiji will play England in their quarter final (and they beat them at Twickenham just before the RWC in a warm up game).

Meanwhile, a bad day in Oz after losing to Fiji. All depends on the match with us next weekend. https://youtu.be/Rhbvwunt_hU?si=3-hRG3DaTn9s880O This passionate fan goes ballistic as the minutes go on. Hilarious. More f***s than Nothings JT has ever managed.

Ha! That sounds like a plan. I know a nice place in Shirakawa-go. I too can play weird guitar (I.e. not play at all) and am pretty sure I’d make a good fist of ruining any record you point me at, so we’re bound to get on.

Dear Wilco. Please book Augie March in support with a contractual ‘best of’ set list (contact me for detailed list). Then I will have to travel to Australia. Ta, Albert
