My best friend at Uni came from Weybridge, and one night saw 'the other guy' (name escapes me right now) practically crying into his beer ("I'm all washed up etc.") after the Style Council broke up. Rick Buckler still lives locally and restores antiques. At the end of his garden, his compost heap has his old drum kit on it (saw this on a London TV Where Are They Now type thing).

Actually, I did know that was the reason What was that old Australlian TV series set during the war - half of it set in Oz and half in Tobruk. Must have been about the first Australian TV ever shown here (ages before the Kylie & Jason invasion etc.) Perhaps that's where my hat fixation started.

So, the BBC lied to me Saw Swansea and quite enjoyed that (Welsh guile beats English brawn) on Saturday, but was really looking forward to the game on Sunday. Still, nice result. Not sure if the bonus points put us out of sight in the group. Playing to any pass-by traffic: USA qualified for the World Cup on Saturday!

I never give in to hijackers, but I've got a tinge of Stockholm Syndrome setting in.

You seem to indicate there's a possibility? Dress down day at work must be a hoot. Seriously, I always wanted an Anzac hat as a kid (you know one side turned up etc.).

For once, no. What you missed (with EC popping up in a couple of places) - grabbed from somewhere else:-

'In Case We Die' got on some 'best of 2005' lists. I think that Welsh Rich has seen them and will probably know more. Myself, I've heard nowt.

Talk about supergroup ... P.S. since the previous post I've got two new rear tyres. Does it show?

He's got nice friends. Apology accepted . Sounds like you witnessed some magic there. I was thinking that if he was hanging around he might join in on Sunday, but it looks like she got there early and joined him. He may still well reciprocate. They have done this sort of thing alot. I checked your blog and saw the JoJo write up. I was about to post this (or a better picture which I could not find) to express my outrage at your blasphemy:- ... but reading on it seemed to all turn out alright on the night I will miss your report from Sunday though

I've always thought of IATMWLY as "Sue's tune", so can't see it being dropped. Just the impression I've gotten. As long as they are on form and fired up, I'll take whatever they dish out.

Yes. "Fire in the hole!"

Phheew. Bit of a sweat on here after a traditional English chicken madras for dinner. Just what the doctor ordered. Can't see the bird flu surviving that.

I remember they had UB40 in support in Cardiff on an early tour back then. They get all the grief for being reggae lite, but I thought their first album was great.
