  1. Loving this new old version. Something about that Beatles perfect imperfection of guitar/drums/vocals that makes it so listenable and alive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azvE5dh2f1A There's another 'first version' about now too that's also.
  2. Excellent reportage. Channelling Bbop indeed (he even won't have to complain about any deviation from his titling protocol). Ta.
  3. That's an interesting paradox.
  4. Latest couple of 1 hour Stewart Lee specials on BBC. Someone has captured the audio (still quite brilliant without the deadpan visuals) Edit: Then chilled to Whitehouse and Mortimer: Gone Fishing last night.
  5. First the Queen dies, now Bbop is not writing show reports. What's going on with the world? (no offence Boss_Tweedy) Edit - Now I think of it, Bbop always did have an unmatched collection of handbags. Maybe there is some correlation! Oh no!
  6. Waiting like Hachikō, but probably less cute and with a cup of tea at the ready.
  7. My top three from Dogrel the first album https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNXrKBt76zI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgLypctZ9Gs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFl5meLpsVI
  8. Suppose this is nothing compared with Bbop's history of queuing. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/sep/15/the-most-british-thing-ever-huge-queue-of-royal-mourners-sparks-memes-and-gentle-humour
  9. As usual I have a difficult time loving everything by any band, but have been impressed with the lyrics of Sam Fender. Don't know how big he is in the US - he's definitely big here now. This is a great song from someone so young and nice to have Stephen Graham in the video. The Geordie Springsteen as he has been labelled. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoODq7Ol1so And of course the 'hit'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAifgn2Cvo8 From a couple of years ago (now) I loved Fontaines D.C.'s first album (practically all of it, which is very rare for me). Subsequen
  10. Comfortably unhooked now thanks. My life is like the Hiroshima clock - stuck on hold until your report is completed. As a Brit I am a stickler for tradition, schedules, and procedures.
  11. Nice to know that despite the portents the show was not a crock of shite. Ta.
  12. "I know I keep promising more to come... Sorry for my recent slackerism, Uncle Albert." To be honest I could not help but feel our relationship had soured recently, but now just like Jennifer Lopez I'm finding love the second time around. Ta.
  13. Thought it might be worth posting what has been seen elsewhere. To the tune from the Casey Jones show ( for a reminder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hps6L5vS0sc ) Setlist Guy Stop, look, listen ’cos you’re gonna hear A brand new story ’bout a gig pioneer, He’s the greatest of them all we claim Number one’s his thread post, Setlist Guy’s his name. Setlist Guy a scribbling and a noting, Setlist Guy you never have to guess When you read the rhythm of his meter It’s Bbop at the keyboard with emotion to express! There’ll be Albert Tatlock
  14. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPIKjyR_fCw With input from the mighty George Martin of course, honing his skills for weird sound affects.
  15. Guess they're old enough now to join the Uncut roster of regulars :-)
  16. There was Bootikins in the mean time that I didn't highlight here and was most excellent. Now the latest from a few months ago that slipped me by until now. They don't cause much of a ripple here (why oh why) and I can't see any way to get a physical CD at present (their shop only ship to Australia). But good things come to those who wait so I will just bide my time. Glenn Richards also seems to have released a solo album around the same time. Also sounds good on Spotify.
