Sylvia Plath is doing it for me off the Gold album. A couple of formulaic rockers, but generally I think

(It's not this exact one, I couldn't find it - but you get the idea) I need to do this every so often. Lots of fascists to fight in the City!

I'll see what that same record shop has tomorrow

Love Is Hell That was the first one and put me off for a long time to be honest. From that I could not see what all the fuss was about. Gold I like alot more, but would not count myself a real fan yet.

Got Gold for a fiver this morning. Only the second album of his I've heard

And remember, "make sure they are so firm they do not wobble"! I was indeed surprised at how much it could hold.

His dog was called Shep. There was near mass hysteria on a Princess Diana scale when Shep passed away.

Now there leaves are falling, it's time to make one of these for the garden For 48 years the Blue Peter kids TV show has been showing how to make do, in between looking after pets and parachuting. It's all a bit high tech now. In my day it was all old toilet rolls and cellotape. Catch-phrase: "Here's one I made earlier", as the presenter slowly got entangled in a mess of glue and crepe paper. It used to go out live, so was funny to watch the cock-ups. And where would we be without the perennial favourite the Blue Peter advent crown:- The BBC has always refused to release figures on h

Had this view every morning while the Waterloo & City line was being repaired this summer, and on nice days I think I'll keep walking through the winter. Hope London was kind to you.

I've never really gone for the larger man before, but I think I love you. -
from http://wilcoworld.net/news/index.php and/or http://stores.musictoday.com/store/dept.as...9513&sfid=2 I suppose One By One and California Stars are the two. Perhaps they don't count songs which aren't shown as in concert performances. And thanks for spotting that and posting a few days ago

You can steal all the stationary you want !!!

Good choice! Nowhere need as raucous, but if you want another recommendation for something a bit on the fiddle/irish/folk-rock side, try Fisherman's Blues by the Waterboys.

I'm willing if you are. Messageboard jokes are like farts: generally you don't like anyone else's, but you quite like your own.

Nice reply - you gave the sort of perspective I was wondering about (that which I can only supply for the UK in the late 70s/early 80s).

My Nirvana. "Slashed seat affairs" indeed.

One day we'll find a niche of musical knowledge where you're found wanting, but I think that day is some way off

Personally, I was too old for it to appeal to a rebelious streak, and never felt 'connected' to that sort of West Coast psyche. It was also at a time when I was slogging my guts out for a few years (i.e. the opposite of being a slacker) and not listening to much music, so the whole grunge movement sort of passed me by. Thus I was and am pretty much indifferent - like the raw power of some of the tracks, but never listen to it (I only ever had a cassette taped copy that's long gone now). So, what does it mean to some of you now? Is their legacy really the likes of Blink-182? Lights blue touc

Two really nice reviews - thanks!

Half an hour cut down version of the DVD. Don't know what showing that now means - maybe it won't get a proper release over here. Audio Abyss/Insightful banter Sunken Treasure Shot in the Arm One By One (I know what 7 Down is Jeff if you're still stuck) War On War Acuff Rose California Stars So, I suppose they took as much of the performances that they could squeeze into half an hour. No idea if there are any JT interviews etc on the actual DVD - no conversation in this apart from the banter. War on War was fun, but Nels' lap guitar work I found a bit grating (which I never thoug
