  1. That was my first thought too. Love that song...hope to see it live someday...and "Give Back The Keys To My Heart" too!! Sweet!!
  2. I have a couple of friends there...wishing they'd repeat, or archive the Wilco performance...with the rain, it'd be the perfect time for re-runs, eh?
  3. I can add Paul McCartney's "New" to the top shelf of this year's faves (got a Deluxe edition on Friday from a cool little independent store that got it in early & was, well, cool about the matter- had the files from fellow fiends a day or two before that even- so I've played it a bunch- GREAT album!!)...Macca sits alongside "Fade" by Yo La Tengo & "Electric" by Richard Thompson as part of a trio of absolute faves from 2013 so far...then it'd be- "Today, Tomorrow & Yesterday" by Donna The Buffalo, "The Next Day" by David Bowie & "The Terror" by The Flaming Lips are all just a no
  4. Wow good eye & nice recall. I remembered I'd seen him playing one at some point, but I couldn't remember where or when... It's interesting that Stratocasters & Les Pauls rarely appear amidst Wilco's veritable guitar cornucopia Nice to see too, since Stratocasters & Jazzmasters are my two all-time fave guitars...though, being a Fender guy, first & foremost, I can say that anyone who'd prefer Telecasters & Jaguars gets no arguments from me either. I think those 4 Fenders are the absolute foundation for me...I should also add that while I am a Fender guy, first & foremost,
  5. I don't think there's any connection between the Wilco band name & Wilko Johnson...but I bet Jeff digs him. And another shout out to check out the documentary "Oil City Confidential" This is my absolute fave Wilko/Dr. Feelgood moment..."She Does It Right"!!!
  6. ...well good then, all is slightly righter with the world...have a great time!!! With the official announcement...it looks like this may just be all for the time being...but I'm holding out hope that he might do some more solo swings while the album is being recorded & Wilco is on live hiatus...come on east coast dates!!!
  7. Please, let me encourage to the point of enabling if needed... as IrememberDBoon pointed out the drive in that area will be gorgeous (I adore that part of the country)...and more importantly how can you not? If you are already there, & it takes little effort to double your pleasure, double you fun with an artist who will be varying the setlist plenty, to keep it fresh & surprising pretty much every night...what choice do you have, but to go-go-go-go... Know thyself...you'll break down sooner or later...make it sooner, so you can get better seats & luxuriating in the excellence of y
  8. Uh-oh...that's all very Westerly...meaning...I kind of doubt we'll be seeing east coast dates in November, though who knows...the early dates are closer to mid-west & then it moves progressively West...so maybe we'll be seeing some east coast & mid-west dates pop up for November...but my bet is more likely that we'll see those after the new year...but I'm hoping that 4 shows in a row in L.A might mean that he'd consider doing 4 shows in NYC at some point!!! Wonder what will occur in Chicago involving either Jeff solo, or Wilco at year's end, or the start of next year. Getting to Chicag
  9. I'm very hopeful that there will two volumes of Roadcase releases from the AmericanaramA tour... One would be concentrating on the amazing collaborations- especially the Richard Thomson stuff ("Sloth", "Calvary Cross" & "Tomorrow Never Knows" that had Thompson & some of the guys from MMJ, oh yeah & the "Suzanne" with Feist & Richard...) The other I would hope would focus on the more obscure original tracks that haven't appeared on the other Roadcase releases...that would be as great as the collaborations!!
  10. Anything on the east coast!! I'm really hoping...man, around the holidays...that would be soooooooooooo great!! I'm up for anything within 8 hours of Western New York!!
  11. Condolences & Blessings Of Love & Light For Swift Healing To All The Tweedy Tribe- & Prayers, Wishes & Good Vibes To Greg's Spirit For A Gentle Transition...
  12. The amazing & intrepid John & Pat did pretty much the same thing during Wilco's 3 night long stand in NYC last year...
  13. Owl & Bear ROCKS, to be sure...but... A nice idea, if you're gonna download is to support the band that lets that stuff out so far & free...so consider doing a little Wilco related shopping (good for the Karma & they have cool stuff)...or... better yet...Wilco releases live shows via the Roadcase series, and you'll find "Laminated Cat"/"Not For The Season" there as well, on a few shows actually...so if you don't dig a shirt, or hat, try a regular Roadcase release...and N-Joy!! http://wilco.kungfustore.com/ http://wilco.kungfustore.com/categories/491-roadcase
  14. WOW!! Well I have to honestly say that personally I dug Toronto, & Clarkston shows even more, but that said, tonight was truly incredible & one to remember indeed. Seeing The Ian Hunter Band Featuring Mick Ronson in 1979, as a 15 year old totally changed my life forever. I saw him twice last tour (Cleveland first, because we thought that was as close as he was coming & then we got a bonus round when he ended up in Buffalo too). Just to note for the record here too...after "I Wish I Was Your Mother" I think it was, Jeff said something to the effect of "oh yeah, and from here on out
  15. She sure was...I was recently in an acoustic duo (male & female) & we used to cover "By The Time It Gets Dark" by Sandy...though to be honest, our version owed as much to the Yo La Tengo version as to hers...great singer, great writer, great Spirit... Yeah I'm thrilled that I'll be able to get down close for Hoboken (general admission) & Camden (the pit is about the only solution to such a lousy venue)...and I'll be close enough & seated at Jones Beach- watching the sunset over the ocean, & probably there for the complete show that time too...
  16. Yeah I'm lucking out & am very grateful things are falling my way in these regards. With their original plans to be recording this year, I ended up springing to go to see the two Tweedy solo shows. I visited my Dad in Ohio & pulled off Nelsonville, & there was never any question about Solid Sound- which I think I'm still glowing & gleaming from... I wasn't sure about the AmericanaramA tour...but being a huge Richard Thompson fan, well the collaboration bizznezz got the best of me & I am so glad it did. I went to both Clarkston & Toronto with Thompson on the bill & i
  17. LOL! OK, OK, point taken, understand & acknowledged!!...cumulatively I do think it was better (Richard played better now than on the earlier track, Wilco > early Fairport, and Jeff & Leslie at least equaled Ian & Sandy- honestly, it was that moving...and like I said that old Fairport BBC version was my fave "Suzanne" ever)...and for the record, if pressed, I might go with Linda Thompson or Sally Timms over Sandy, but not by much...I am more of Richard Thompson fanatic, but I love Sandy Denny & their days in Fairport Convention right up there in that league...and I appreciate
  18. Yeah the "America" in Americanarama certainly seems to be, at least, about North America, with all the great Canadian cross over... Actually Jeff made a point of speaking of the "Canadarama" aspect at the Toronto show...he pointed it out initially when he brought out Leslie Feist to duet on the achingly beautiful "You & I", then he mentioned it again, as she came back during the section of the show where Richard Thompson was sitting in & they played the old Thompson/Fairport Convention arrangement of Leonard Cohen's "Suzanne" with Jeff & Leslie taking the Ian Matthews-Sandy Denny d

    Set Times

I think these shows are running fairly regular... Wilco seems to be on a little before 8:00 (7:50-8:00) & plays until a little after 9:00....about 75 minutes or so. Hope I'm right & I hope that helps & most of all that it works out for you!! Good Luck!
  20. I have a ticket broker friend who can help me get a single ticket minus lotsa regular fees...but...I'd probably do better with the flexibility of being able to buy a pair. I had a great in Buffalo who was excited & intending to go (he went to Solid Sound & is a fellow huge fan), but things have, sadly, fallen through for him, so I'm heading solo for the sake of the Wilco & Richard Thompson one-two punch & of course the collaborative magic they've been practicing too... So if anyone is interested in going...I've got to go from N.Y. to Michigan (5-6 hours) through Canada to get t
  21. I'd consider buying a pair if anyone else wants to go. I had a friend in Buffalo (a Solid Sound attendee) who was going to go, but now can't do it...so I'm headed solo on this on...looking for one, but would consider buying two... Here are my numbers: Cell (585) 813-3561 Home (585) 669-8040 Office (585) 346-4510 - my acupuncture center office (fine to leave message)
  22. No where I'm going is as far as Atlanta...9 hours beats me. Though I did go to Chicago (flew in & bussed home to save $) earlier in the year...everything else is managable ( Toronto is 3 hours, Darien a little over an hour, NYC area 4-5...Michigan is pushing it at 5-6 hours) & the Nelsonville thing also involved an extended trip to see my Father too...but...we'll see how many more shows I make it to...I'm thrilled about the two shows with Richard Thompson, like I said, after that all the Americanarama I do, or don't, make it to, is truly icing & amazing extra good fortune... Thanks
