  1. Malkmus jammed for 2 hours with the "super"-group (ha) Soldiers of Fortune last night at the tiny Max Fish in NYC in front of 50-75 folks. They played two 1-hour sets that were basically one long, super-loud jam. It was the kind of shit I dreamed Pavement would do back in the Wowee Zowee days. Also got to tell Matt Sweeney (Chavez) how important of a tune Unreal is Here was for me back in the day. Here's the first 10 mins of the 2nd set. Can't see much but it sounds great imo. Hey, if it's good enough for Brooklyn Vegan..... http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2015/11/stephen_

  6. Jeff has said that Pat's the most talented guy in the band so I think the Ron Harper comparison is a little rough. With Pat's versatility I'd go Pippen.

  8. Never hear much about BTS but they are incredible & Doug seems re-energized with the new members. Last night (2nd of 4 NYC shows) was spectacular.

  13. Diamond Rugs "Country Mile" Deer Tick "Clownin' Around" Courtney Barnett "Avant Gardener" Hmm, probably three or four more tracks by the above. I really don't like much new it appears. Destroyer's "Bay of Pigs" is an amazing epic. Too hard to pick one with Kurt Vile & The War on Drugs.
