Listened to 2-13-70, late show/electric set, the other night. Haven't heard this one in quite some time. The conditions were right for a deep listen and I was rightfully blown away. The recording I have is perfect, not a cut or blemish, so I think its a blend of both Bear's recording and the stage crew who set up a recording station under the stage. "Black box nitties and great big noble thighs" indeed! Also recently listened to The Flying Burrito Bros" from 4/4/1969. Nice stuff.

Me and my son stacked a load of wood last Saturday. I still have to split a heap of maple n pine but time for that seems scarce lately. Since we are talking wood, I found out during our recent trip to CO that I don't care to burn Lodgepole pine. That is a greasy burning wood, nasty.

No one can compare to HDS, he was an awesome character actor. For me, his favorite role was in Cisco Pike. Never saw Paris, Texas. I'm gonna fix that soon. RIP HDS!

Its worth it. Bob Odenkirk is great; the rest of the cast is good too.

Finished season 2 of Better Call Saul. I cracked a smile when he gave some love to the town of Cicero. That was one hell of a crazy place back in the 80s/90s.

Chicago's bats have been on fire recently. Sox have 16 runs, 24 hits in todays game. Cubs won 17-5 yesterday.

Great crop of basil this year.

Just finished "Empire of the Summer Moon" by SC Gwynne. A very interesting and informative read about the Comanche tribe and their resistance to the westward expansion of the frontier. The Comanche were bad asses!

The A.V. Club's decision to move to Kinja (whatever that means) has destroyed the site. Now it is difficult to navigate and the comments section is ruined. Cant they just leave well enough alone?

I was the guy in the hat driving the white SUV. I waved and you ignored me. I'll get over the snub but still.....

Today is my first day back at work after spending 2 weeks in CO, camping in the mountains north of Steamboat and in RMNP. Saw sooo many Perseid meteors with my kids, niece and nephews. Beautiful country, great times. Also, despite the clouds in Chicagoland today, I was able to see the eclipse at its peak.

45's family consorting with known Russian money launderers?! Why, the very idea is preposterous!! PREPOSTEROUS! BAA-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! I must admit, the thought of that family locked up in a Federal prison is delicious.

Today I found out that George Romero died the other day. I had the (mis)fortune of seeing Night of the Living Dead at the ripe old age of 6. It gave me nightmares for years. To this day, I cant watch that flick. RIP George!

Today, for some reason, I started thinking about watching Fernwood Tonight back when I was a kid.

We are watching season 1 of BB, again. I don't have much sympathy for Walt this time around.

Is lil' donnyboy jr falling on his sword to somehow protect his father or is he really that stupid? Anyways, this undeniable evidence of collusion is certainly welcome and well overdue.
