Van Morrison tonight! excited...getting ready to head to airport now.

congrats to edgar martinez on finally getting into the hall of fame. well deserved & long over due. season over now for the mariners, haha. its going to be a brutal year. they did manage to raise ticket prices again though, about 2 weeks before they gutted the team. we're top 5 in cost to go to game now. i thought it was traditional to like win before you gouged the fans. they've priced me out. i used to go to at least 1 game a homestand & 1 game a series before that. there is a row$12 (second cheapest) & were great. now with variable pricing they are at least $30 a game & go u

new orleans was robbed but they did it to themselves too. start of game settling for field goals first few drives. now we have to listen to mr overrated tony romo. he was overrated as a player too. go kc!

I'm only going to be there for 1 show. Up for consideration the other 2 nights are Penn & Teller again or maybe KA or Mystere Cirque shows. Winging it.

I did real well picking winners during regular season (top 3% NFL straight pick & ESPN point spread contests) but have been stinking it up during the playoffs. Didn't get any right wild card weekend. I'd like NO to win. Probably would like to see KC in the big game. Really dislike the Rams (division foes) & the Patriots.

thanks shug. from feedback i've gotten, it seems he has been more consistently great the past few years. very engaged with a great band. the mini residency in vegas is a good thing. that's a great venue @ caesar's. i've seen Elton & Rod there. i'm sure they treat him like a king there. there weren't a lot of tickets left for the show. i got front row of the upper mezzanine, should be fine. sure is a lot going on in vegas that night. besides van: lady gaga, zz top, santana, puddles the clown. for giggles i checked out tickets for lady gaga. i like her. minimum $400. like her but not that mu

New Jeff Tweedy album November 30th (called WARM)
chuckrh replied to Oil Can Boyd's topic in Just A Fan
Really like "Warm" on first listen. Nice vibe & performances. I like how he has involved Spencer & Sammy. Looks like Sammy is developing into a really good photographer. I like the album art a lot. I probably need to listen more but I've been stuck on the Bowie Glastonbury 2000 release. Some things are just holy, doncha know. -
I saw them at the Joint (Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas) before the remodel. It was1200 capacity. Still a nice venue but 4000 capacity now. The Licks tour. Then I saw them the next night @ MGM Grand Arena (smallish arena), with good seats. That show was actually the better of the 2. Sticky Fingers night, got my only "Can't You Hear Me Knocking". They also did a stripped down "Brown Sugar" on the B stage that was stunning. Just the boys, he who shall not be named (Chuck Leavell) & a magnificent sax solo by Bobby Keys.

The Bobby Keys film is great. Some great interview stuff with Keith & Charlie. I waited out the TM waiting room. Took about 15 minutes. I ended up getting the exact tickets I wanted in Seattle. ADA seats in the front of the upper deck, Keith side, about even with the end of the catwalk (50 yard line). $100 each, not cheap but not out of line. Could be way worse. We've sat there for some spectacles (U2, Metallica, G 'n R) & the perspective is very good. & the sound there at Century Link is excellent. I'm quite happy with how it turned out. I've seen the Stones over 20 times from a c

just arrived from australia. stunning!

I just finished the book. It was pretty good. I thought it started stronger than it finished. The farther along it went in the timeline, it seemed the less was said. A little rushed. 1 notable exception was the stuff about Mavis Staples (& Dylan a little). Overall I'd recommend it but it wasn't quite as compelling as say the Keith Richards & Bruce Springsteen autobiographies.

word is $50-500, with deluxe packages

Just because of Neil, I splurged & spent $200 a ticket. He looks like he is having time of his life up there. Was worth it just for Don't Dream & the Petty tribute. There were many other fine moments though. I like Stevie but in small doses. They pretty much alternated between all 3 lead singers. Stevie had a little problem during Gypsy but rebounded nicely. The pre Stevie stuff was all great. All the Things You Do, Black Magic Woman & Oh Well were all stellar. I think you would enjoy the show. & there is a built in bathroom/more beer break. Is called the drum solo haha. Too lo

Ya, that was pretty funny. I saw Wilco open for REM around the time of Summerteeth. Great double bill. I miss REM!!!!

The Fleetwood Mac show last night in Tacoma was great. The new blood in the band has turned out to be a good thing. Different vibe now, happier. Stevie & Christine were spot on for the most part. Musically, Mike Campbell is the leader of the band. He spoke more last night than all the times I ever saw him with Petty. He's in a league of his own as a guitar player & this was very much in evidence during the show. Fantastic. He even sang lead on Oh Well. Neil Finn is 1 of my all time faves & he fit in very nicely with the ladies. His take on Lindsey's songs was fresh & very very

Fleetwood Mac tonight. I'm a huge Neil Finn fan, so I'm pretty excited about it. Have seen a few vids of Mike Campbell tearing it up, too. I like Lindsey Buckingham plenty but this new lineup is interesting to me.
