  1. He's in his 3rd full year as a starter and is in the Super Bowl. I think he is ahead of the curve of meeting potential. I can't blame Eli for not wanting to play in San Diego. They have a long history of having their top picks hold out (Rivers didn't sign until week one that year) and Brees was on the roster. They also have a reputation as an unstable franchise (they did fire their coach after a 14-2 season and hire NORV TURNER) and they have been talking about moving for several years.
  2. They should lock him up whenever there is talk of a Phish reunion.
  3. I plan on going to a bar and using all of my charm on the prettiest, lonliest girl in the place!
  4. As a hard-core Giants fan, I can say that this has been a huge surprise. Leading up to Sundays game at GB, every Giants fan I talked to about the game agreed that anything past beating the Cowboys was just gravy, and that made the win that much better. Looking forward, I don't expect the Giants to win, but I think they can give the Pats a run for their money. They are playing great football right now on both sides of the ball. My hat defintely goes off to Eli Manning, who is by far and away the most scrutinized player in the NFL. In week 10, people were calling for the Giants to draft a new
  5. Congrats! Sweet feeling, isn't it? Getting one of your songs covered is the highest form of musical flattery! May your ego grow by leaps and bounds! (Cause every good musician needs a big ego
  6. This doesn't really affect me, since I have always been pretty f'n poor, but I find it hilarious that everyone is just getting around to talking about how bad the economy is. Seems to me, from talking to friends and family all over the country in the last year, that things have been bad for a while and now its just turning for the worse.
  7. When Death Cab is one of your headlining bands, your festival sucks.
  8. Whoever plunks down money for a record with "Masters of War" from the Grammys is f'n crazy!!! Why not add the superstar Bob Dylan Trio (Wood and Richards) Live Aid set!!
  9. I'm sorry, let me correct myself: Every circle needs a center!
  10. Don't let it bug you. Thats a good thing. This is the guy who started the band, writes almost all of the songs. i.e., the man with the vision. Anybody who thinks there is such thing as a democratic band is highly delusional. Every band needs a leader.
  11. Rumor has it that it is not a substance type thing, rather than Dave and Serge being given an ultimatum of some sort from the other members that the boys just did not want to accomodate. This was posted by Dave Bielanko today: From myspace blog: Hey Everybody, The News: Yes, Marah has recently gone through some personnel changes and we will do our best to reschedule these American tour dates as soon as we possibly can
  12. Yes, because talking quantam physics during sex is a real turn on. How do you decide which women to approach when your at a bar, a library, a Starbucks, or wherever? Do you give them IQ tests? Best post ever! I would not only vote for Shakira's ass, I would volunteer on her campaign!
  13. You have...they called it "Sting Me"! They just slowed it down and changed the lyrics, but its the same formula. It sounds nice and organic, but as has been the case with Chris Robinson, the lyrics are pretty f'n lame. Feels like a "Crowes by numbers" type of thing. It is a huge step up from "Lions" though.

  17. Don Was. He kills records. I really like 3 Snakes a lot. It seemed to me the Crowes were really finding themselves with that record. It didn't sell well, and then it was "lets put the Bell-bottoms back on and go back to ripping off the stones with some really flaky, stupid lyrics...."
  18. Ha ha, funny. The three movies by Gilliam are actually a trilogy smartass! Time Bandits: life through the eyes of a child Brazil: life through the eyes of a middle aged man Munchausen: life through the eyes of an old man
  19. What about this trilogy: Time Bandits, Brazil, Adventures of Baron Munchausen
  20. Those songs are nice and all, but to me it just seems like the Black Crowes trying to write a "B;ack Crowes" song. Like a pre-fab house or something along those lines. To each his/her own....
  21. The Crowes are way past thier expiration date, IMO. They haven't written a good song since "3 snakes"
  22. I have that, and if I remember correctly, Sneaky Pete is the only original Burritto on that LP.
