DAMN! They busted poor Willie
Mr. Heartbreak replied to IRememberDBoon's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
In a creek? I'd hope they'd be visible... -
Once you get past Day Three, you're golden. It gets progressively easier (albeit very, very slowly).

I live in Florida and it's 95 degrees here now, so that sounds downright refreshing! Thanks for the tip (no pun intended). -
DAMN! They busted poor Willie

Those are some old farts to be driving while stoned (DWS). I hope they don't get away with this by saying, "I need it for my glaucoma." -
Still can't stand the guy, but he's got good taste in guitar heroes. I'll give him that.

Damn, I love those old Clint westerns! -
My condolences to redshift and family as well ... Viatroy, I quit almost 17 years ago, and I'm another cold turkey guy. I had gotten up to 2 packs a day at age 24, and the only way I could do it was to just stop. I did it when I wasn't working full time, which helped, and I had a pretty unpleasant 3-4 days, but it got better rapidly after that. For me, the nasty withdrawal gave me a good incentive to stay stopped -- I didn't want to go through that crap again. Just as important, I believe, was making other changes rapidly: no hanging around other smokers in "enclosed" spaces after that (fo

Osama, Whitney, and MacGyver
Mr. Heartbreak replied to Mr. Heartbreak's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
http://celebrities.netscape.com/story/2006...les-for-divorce I guess the Osama thing was the last straw. -
It's not one of my favorites either, and I was really baffled when people were SO THRILLED that the band started playing it live (which was, like, three or four years later). I think it's fairly complex musically compared to many of the other songs from that era, but more complex doesn't necessarily equal more compelling. Wouldn't make my list of top 50 Wilco songs. Lot of people dig it, though. A lot. If I were going to start a thread like this it would be about Via Chicago...but then the whole forum is named after it, so that would be pretty damn pointless, wouldn't it?

I think it's terrible that whenever an attractive woman who has real talent in a sport or other activity becomes well known, she's immediately objectified and sexualized rather than simply being acknowledged for her abilities. Kidding! Yeah, she's fookin' hot, man.

Haha! Gotcha. That's almost as good as getting the "Meow Mix" jingle into people's heads.

I actually prefer the demos, but then, I'm not a big fan of Jay's keyboard stuff.

I didn't even know about this, but I was listening to "I'm A Hog For You" earlier today.

Heh heh. Just going for the cheap laugh, which is my usual forte. I'd heard Seger had some type of spread in Pasco county, which I thought was a weird choice. No big cities there. Then again, it may just be an urban legend. Actually, I'd heard his place was somewhere near the Paradise Lakes "clothing optional" Resort ... nice visual, eh? Seger at a nudist colony. By the way, I live in Florida, and you do get used to the summers, believe it or not. It's winter we can't take (Long sleeves? What a pain!)

Probably a second home. Fuckin' snowbirds.

Loose Change--5-year 9/11 anniversary

Of course it's all liberal kooks putting out these dangerous conspiracy theories. The government would never do anything to harm or even take away the rights of others. http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/histor...a/Hearing05.htm http://www.geocities.com/Athens/8420/main.html http://www.nyclu.org/tabbaa_v_chertoff_pr_042005.html http://www.infoworld.com/article/06/08/17/...mackdown_1.html http://www.villagevoice.com/news/0611,hentoff,72497,6.html http://www.commondreams.org/headlines06/0218-05.htm http://www.tompaine.com/articles/2006/09/0..._apprentice.php -

He's got a handful of hits that still hold up well - Night Moves, Mainstreet, Turn The Page, and Against the Wind, in particular. Unfortunately, he's also got Old Time Rock and Roll and Like A Rock going against him, so it's a mixed bag. I heard he lives here in Florida now.

I saw them a while back, but didn't take the opportunity to catch this one. A friend of mine saw the show and said it was one of the best he's ever seen. Argh! Glad you enjoyed it though.

Also, "Animals of Africa," although it showed up on a lot of recorded shows in 2002 (and sounds like a good name for a new attraction at Busch Gardens), is not actually a song. It's just the animal noises that were played before Wilco took the stage on that tour. And .... "On A Private Beach In Michigan" was an early guess at the title of what would become known later as "Spiders (Kidsmoke)."

I didn't much like AGIB, so I'm really looking forward to this one, and am glad that it sounds different.
