  1. Joe Stalin's Cadillac - Camper Van Beethoven Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle - Nirvana
  2. Mao Tse Tung Said - A3 Sean Flynn - The Clash Jack Ruby - Camper Van Beethoven James Brown - Big Audio Dynamite Amy Grant - Young Fresh Fellows
  3. Two of my faves (the third being Roadrunner): Ridin' In My Car- NRBQ In My Gremlin - Rave Ups The Coward Brothers
  4. "The High Heat" I predict many bench-clearing brawls.
  5. I wonder if he ran out of dope & smoked his ponytails instead
  6. My current hobbies include building cigar box guitars and circuit-bending electronic kiddie toys and 1980's-era keyboards. I also paint/draw but I consider that more a calling than a hobby. As a kid I was an obsessive stamp collector until I hit puberty and discovered that girls were far more interesting. Not too long ago I realized that my day job as a visual resources curator isn't much different than collecting stamps (ie. I acquire things and put them in order) - I can't believe it took me 15-odd years to make at connection.
  7. I vote "yes" - the re-masters for both sound amazing and it's fun having the live stuff, although I can't say how they compare to previous cds (I'd only had these on vinyl; can't believe it took me over 25 years to upgrade!)
  8. Nov. 2002 we had tickets to see Wilco for the first time in Gainesville, FL. Our vehicle blew a fuel pump on I-95 on the drive down on the day of the show, about 45 miles from home. It was a Sunday afternoon so no auto repair shops were open. Called AAA, had the car towed home to our local auto garage, then walked home and watched football instead.
  9. My only advice would be to NOT sit her down in front of a computer, open this thread and say "Hey - I've been talking with some people on the internet and I really think you should read through this..."
  10. I was also thinking of bands that lost key members that made successful comebacks:
  11. Yesterday a local cashier asked me if I was eligible for a senior discount. (btw, I'm 46)
  12. To my ears there was always at least one perfect pop song on each XTC album (earn enough for us, mayor of simpleton, senses working overtime, etc.) Even after 20-odd yrs I still get a ton of enjoyment out of The Stone Roses S/T
  13. THIS. My favorite pair of (Simple) work shoes squeak like the dickens. It's doubly-annoying since I work in a library.
  14. I prefer to yell "Hey, how is it going?"
  15. When my brother and I were kids out next door neighbor would give each of us a cuticle set (incl. fingernail/toenail clippers and metal nail file) for Christmas. What kind of person gives an 7-year old kid a cuticle set as a Christmas present? Or a 8- 9- 10- 11- or 12-year old? Yep, we both got the same gift from him every Christmas 6 years in a row.
  16. I would also add people who talk on cell phones while in a public restroom. Makes me want to go right up next to them while they're on the phone and make loud rude bathroom noises.
  17. Not really a good song, but definitely a career-destroying video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fR0j7sModCI
  18. 1. First Concert, when? Stray Cats, fall 1982 2. First Concert you really wanted to go to and did? U2, Unforgettable Fire tour, Philadelphia, Spring 1986 3. Favorite Band? Clash, Wilco 4. How Many Times have you seen them? Wilco 4, Clash (sadly, none) 5. Worst concert you attended? I've never seen a headliner that was truly awful; most disappointing would have to be Husker Du - was expecting brilliance, got meh. 6. Favorite? Big Audio Dynamite, 1987; REM, Document tour, c.1988; Wilco, Savannah, last week. 7. Band you have seen the most? Wilco 8. How many times? 4 9. Furthest
  19. It was definitely Gregg - he lives in Richmond Hill (about 20 min. outside Savannah) so he's around town from time to time. It was weird seeing him, though - like seeing the ghost of Southern Rock.
